Terms of Reference: Graphic Designer for CEWARN 10th anniversary logo
IGAD’s Conflict Early Warning and Response Mechanism (CEWARN) established in 2002, is a specialized unit that works to prevent and mitigate violent conflict in the IGAD region by using early warning data and analysis. With a core staff located at the headquarters in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, the CEWARN mechanism undertakes this work through an interwoven network of government and civil society organizations that operate at local, national and regional levels, across IGAD Member Countries.
CEWARN intends to hold a 10th year anniversary event in November 2014. In preparation for production of publicity materials for the event, CEWARN seeks the services of a competent graphic designer and/or a communications company to develop “ a CEWARN 10th anniversary logo” that will be used across the anniversary event publicity materials.
Scope of Assignment
Under the guidance of the CEWARN PR & Communications Officer and Communications Assistant, the selected service provider will be relied on to develop a 10th Year Anniversary logo. The logo is intended to be based on the organisation’s current logo and reflect the 10th anniversary celebrations. It is also intended to have strong visual appeal as well as simplicity for easy application in line with existing CEWARN branding specifications.
Deliverables
The selected company will be responsible for:
Producing two options of anniversary logos that are adaptations of the same design theme; and
Developing a basic logo application (production) guideline in terms of color, proportions and related specifications.
Minimum Qualification and Capabilities Required
Competent graphic designer with educational background in graphic Design, fine arts or a related field and familiarity with corporate branding work;
Practical knowledge of design software such as Adobe Design Premium‐package;
Able to show clear and mature style of design fit for international institution contexts;
Proven experience of graphic production including guiding brand application and print supervision (from start to published/printed product with knowledge of printing processes (offset and digital) and color management);
Ability to work on own initiative; and
Familiarity with the CEWARN Mechanism is an added advantage.
