2. • To solve that, paper provides a solution; it develops a system of bus
monitoring and management based on ZigBee and GPRS technology.
• ZigBee wireless communication technology is an emerging technology
with low-power, low-data-rate, low-cost, and low-complexity.
• GPRS is short for General Packet Radio-Service; GPRS uses packet
switching technology, especially suitable for intermittent, sudden and
frequent, small amounts of data transfer.
• The system paper designed bases on a combination of ZigBee technology
and GPRS technology will play a good effect from many aspects.

3. • The main goal of this project is to design school bus location system, which will track the location of the
bus using GPS.
• We will be using GPS system to monitor buses to find approximate location of the bus and GPS location of
the bus status will be displayed at all the bus terminals using an LCD display.
• The system permits localization of the automobile and transmitting the position to the owner on short message
(SMS) at his request via zigbee.
• GPS Receiver gets the location information from satellites in the form of latitude and longitude.
• The Microcontroller processes this information and this processed information is sent to the user/owner using
zigbee on his computer.

Our device will offer the consumer the following benefits:
This system will help the students/people know if a bus is not on schedule or has been canceled due to
technical or weather issues.
System will also tell students/people whether they have just missed the bus so they don’t wait for the bus and
it will also tell them how long it’s going to be until another bus.
The bus drivers will not need to maintain the time log but instead of that system will monitor the accurate
log for them.
6. MICROCONTROLLER:-
In this project microcontroller is use to store latitude & longitude position of each
stop of bus which is taken by GPS.
Microcontroller is an economical computer –on-a-chip built for dealing with
specific tasks ,such as displaying or receiving information through LEDs or remote
controlled devices.
7. EMBEDDED C
Embedded C is use for microcontroller based application.
Embedded C has to use with the limited resources.
For ex. Ram, Rom, I/O on an embedded processor.
Embedded C is used for real time operating system.
8. This system provides accurate information to the student and parents.
System will also tell students whether they have just missed the bus so they
don’t wait for the bus.
