3. INTRODUCTION
Metro is one of the public transports widely
used all over the world.
In this project, we are going to apply PLC
automation in metro.
This project is completely build to practice
the sequence of operation in PLC
programming.
It may completely vary in real time.
4. COMPONENT
PROGRAMMABLE LOGIC CONTROLLER
A PROGRAMMABLE LOGIC CONTROLLER (PLC) is an
industrial computer control system that continuously
monitors the state of input devices and makes decisions
based upon a custom program to control the state of
output devices.
5. Programmable Logic
Controllers(PLC)
A PLC is a user-friendly, microprocessor based
specialized computer that carries out control
functions of many types and level of
complexity.
Its purpose is to monitor crucial process
parameters and adjust process operations
accordingly.
Hence it is used for the automation of METRO
RAIL SYSTEM
7. SCADA
SCADA stands for Supervisory control and Data
acquisition .
SCADA is a control system architecture that uses
computers ,networked data communication and
graphical user interfaces for high-level process
supervisory management , but uses other
peripheral devices such as programmable logic
controllers to interface to process plant or
machinery.

Train location can be identified and controlled after interruption
of power supply
Collision can be avoided.
Accidents are avoided.
Public gathering can also be avoided.
Enhanced security system.
New tickets policy.
Reduces the overall power consumption of the system .
Preventing human error.

13. CONCLUSION
By employing PLC, automation can be achieved and
SCADA is used to track the location of train to avoid
the accidents.
Speed can be reduced by the sensors and inter
passage Door opening is provided for safety of
passengers.
14. Future scope
By implementing PLC and SCADA in metro rail automation , the train
accidents can be prevented and many lives would be saved.
Terrorism activities can also be avoided.
