If you don't take care of your health, you'll get sick. The
same is true with your website. A website can be an incredible
tool to connect with your audience – if you maintain it.
Despite all the time or money you put into its design and
hosting, if you neglect it, it will provide modest or little benefit
in return. The success of your web venture will rely on the
amount of attention and maintenance you put into it.
3. 9
customize a
wine label
Many vineyards reserve some
unlabeled bottles for private label wines.
You can design your own custom label
and turn a tasty vintage into a great gift
or favor. It's a savvy way to stay top of
mind. Some winemakers even have
templates to make the label making
super simple, so be sure to ask.
4. 18 use LinkedIn
often
While many users think of LinkedIn as an online
Rolodex, smart users are sharing what they are working on,
asking questions of their professional network and finding
new clients or collaborators. By using LinkedIn often, people
will begin to notice your activity and take notice as you rise
above the fray of casual users.
5. 29 launch a podcast
What? You’re not podcasting? Resolve to change that ASAP.
If you already have material for a workshop, pamphlet, seminar,
blog post or just something insightful to say, you have a new
podcast all but recorded. Better yet, create a series of podcasts
on a subject of interest and let your clients share your deep
thoughts with their networks.

publish an article
Nothing says “expert” like getting published.
When you have an article published, a third
party has more or less certified you as
somebody who knows what you are talking
about, whether it’s an op-ed in the local
newspaper, a research article for a journal, a
report, coverage of an issue or a trend for an
association publication, or a stint as a guest
blogger. Don’t just state the obvious. Instead,
take a stand, share an insight and if you’re really
clever, mix in a little humor with your expertise.
9. 42
give away
guides
Create a guide. What's
relevant and valuable to your
audience? Give them what
they need through a digital
or print guide holding lots of
meaty content.
10. 67 market your articles
If a tree falls in a forest, and no one is around to hear it, does
it make a sound? Once you’ve written some great articles, make
sure your voice is heard by developing a publicity plan for your
work. Maybe you need to do a little media relations on your
behalf or blow up your social network. Don’t worry if you cause
the Fail Whale to appear on Twitter, consider it a challenge.
11. 83 create an
Instagram
account
This popular app is definitely on a hot run with an more
than 100 million users worldwide. Encourage your
employees to take brand-related photos on their
smartphones and share them on Instagram. Make sure to
interact with your followers by liking and commenting on
their photos, too.
12. 91 host a contest
Contests bring out competitiveness in a friendly fashion. Make sure
your contest is free and that there’s something “in it” for everyone,
including your bottom line. Get prizes from colleagues and businesses
in exchange for promotional opportunities, and offer something of
value that shares your service or products as well. Be smart about
collecting info from your entrants so you can add them to your
database, leaving the door open for a future sales call, coffee chat or
whatever.
