Requirements of the Production
 portfolio, Blog and Evaluation.
The requirements of Brief 10 consist of 5 sub sections. The main task is to
direct, produce, film and edit a 3-5min short film in which we have been given a loose
direction to base our film on.
As well as this we have to complete two ancillary tasks one being a Film magazine
review as well as Film poster. These will consist of one theme shared throughout the 3
  task.
As well as this we will have to complete a weekly blog on Google Blogger including
what we have done as a group and as individuals giving an insight to the
success’s, challenges and complications we may face.
Lastly we will have to complete an Evaluation of our work at the end of the year, this
  entails of 4 Questions:
  1. In what ways does your media product use, develop, or challenge forms and
        conventions of real media product?
  2. How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary text?
  3. What have you learnt from your audiences feedback?
  4. How did you use media technologies in the construction, research, planning and
        evaluation stages?
Fairytales, Fables and Myths.
• We have been given a loose theme which we can pick of the three options being Fairytales, Fables or
Myths. In which we can develop in to a modern day version for a modern audience which can be
presented in Animation or Action form.
• As a group we have chosen to develop a current day version of Sleeping Beauty which we have chosen to
    film in action.
• We will research a original version to ensure that we have all the main aspects of the story.
Who am I working with?
• The group I have chosen to work with consists of three people, each having a different role to focus on.
• In my group there is Femi Kamara and Janet Lunkuse and myself Raychelle Goodhead, the company name we have
     chosen is “A Grade”

I have chosen the role of Producer the producesr main tasks are: Cast the actors, working with the director, Determine
locations and budget, Decide on cinematographer and special effects, Develop a shooting schedule, Create a detailed
plan of action for production., Offer creative suggestions to the director, Handle problems with actors or creative
staff, Monitor production timetable and budget, Review video dailies, the film shot each day.

Femi has chosen the role of Editor the Editors main task are: the creative post-production process of filmmaking, works
with the raw footage, selecting shots and combining them into sequences to create a finished motion picture.

Janet has chosen the role of Director the directors main task are: directs the actors and film crew in filmmaking, control
a film's artistic and dramatic aspects, while guiding the technical crew and actors, The director works closely with the
cast and crew to shape the film, He or she works with the editor to ensure that the emotions of the scene and the close
ups, mid-shots and wide or long shots appropriately reflect which character is driving the narrative.

As a group we will be sharing the role of Camera man as a group we will take the role in intervals while choosing the
right camera angles, position, movements to convey our theme successfully.
Outline the final idea (and/or idea’s).
• As a group we have chosen to adapt the Fairy tale Sleeping beauty with a modern take, however we
considered the the Greek myth Medusa, the fable Pinocchio, and the fairy tale The Princess and the Pea.
• We have chosen the fairytale Sleeping beauty because it has a universal message of “Good things come to
    those who wait”.
• We will aim to adapt Sleeping beauty and keep the narrative structure in the aim to appeal to our
audience and convey the message of the film successfully.
• Below is the traditional version of Sleeping beauty which we aim to adapt:
