I am a PhD candidate in civil engineering at University of Houston currently working on Experimental-Theoretical NSF funded project on the interface behavior of brick-mortar layers in masonry structures under supervision of Prof Kaspar J Willam. I am doing several tests on small scale triplets and large scale masonry panels under biaxial loading scenarios to find out the experimental failure curve of the material and trying to describe the behavior of them in terms of an analytical solution using some interface models and trying to implement the defined model in form of a in house developed code using methods like discontinuous Galerkin method implemented in contact mechanics.
