Beginning of the 2013-2014 Legislative Session
Approximately 2,500 bills will have been submitted
by the end of business today.
C.A.R. only looks for bills that are Real Estate Related
4. 2012 Highlights in Review
• AB178- Degree Broker -clarify the law to
require "degree brokers" to have an
undergraduate degree with either a major or a
minor in real estate. Status- Signed into law.
• SB1220 – Transfer Tax- Wanted to impose a
transfer tax in the form of a point of sale
document recording fee. Status-C.A.R.
negotiated the removal of the transfer tax at
point of sale.

We will be continue to be watchful- easier to play defense
than offense

doors rather than on the floor.
