Coast Guard Fleet Renewal
• Since 2005, there have been upwards of
$7 billion of investment announcements in
the renewal of the Coast Guard’s Fleet.
• The first comprehensive long-term Fleet
Renewal Plan (FRP) was released in 2006.
• The last version of the Plan was completed
in 2012.
• The Plan is on a five-year cycle, and Coast
Guard is currently working to update it.

Fleet Renewal - Work Underway
• The Fleet Renewal Plan will ensure that the Coast Guard meets the
needs of mariners today, and into the future with a fleet that:
– Addresses the Icebreaking challenge;
– Meets public expectations for environmental response;
– Delivers the required capacity in the North; and
– Ensures operational flexibility and adaptability.
