What materials are found in your house and school? The
materials around you are made up of substances. We are
going identify different materials at home and in school.
3. Let’s Learn All materials are made up of substances.
Each one has its own properties that
make it different from other materials.
- Are usually solid and malleable for they can be hammered into thin sheets.
- Can be polished to become shiny
- Formed easily into different shapes without cracking
- They are good conductors of heat and electricity
- If carelessly handled, it can wound or cut skin.

- does not rust, it’s strong and can resist heat but
easily burn when ignited

- can be molded into shapes to make pots
and vases

- is composed of different gases like oxygen,
carbon dioxide, nitrogen, helium, ozone, water
vapor and many more.
- Human and animals breathe in oxygen
- Carbon dioxide used by plants in producing food
- Nitrogen is used to make natural fertilizer for
plants.
