5. GABRIEL GARCIA MARQUEZ:
He was a Colombian novelist, short story writer, screen
writer, and journalist. He was affectionately called
‘Gabo’. He was awarded the Neustadt International
Prize for Literature in 1972, and the Nobel prize for
Literature in 1982.His first major work is The story of
shipwrecked sailor, which he wtote as a newspaper
series in 1995.His best known novels include One
Hundred Years of Solitude, The Autumn of the Patriarch
and Love in the Time of Cholera.
