KESELAMATAN adalah terhindarnya seseorang dari resiko
terjadi kecelakaan di jalan
Untuk menurunkan angka kecelakaan dan fatalitasnya, hal
paling logis dilakukan adalah dengan mengidentifikasi apa
resikonya dan buat program untuk mengendalikannya
Kecelakaan lalu lintas jalan adalah suatu
peristiwa tidak biasa yang terjadi di jalan
antara pengguna jalan dengan pengguna
jalan lainnya
dan atau dengan jalan/bangunan diatasnya
akibat tidak terpenuhinya sebagian atau
keseluruhan standar keselamatan
yang mengakibatkan kerugian berupa
korban manusia maupun material
