Improved plant process yield to over 95% by minimizing defects on injection molded

2012: Noble Biomaterials Scranton, PA
Sr. Process/Project Engineer: Responsible for process development, validation, quality and cost
reduction throughout the facility.
Developed equipment and formulations for high speed coating of textiles, and process
upgrades to wastewater and metals recovery operations. Updated facility air permits, and
designed new ventilation equipment. Upgraded process safety and material handling.
Estimated cost savings above $600,000.
2010 - 2011: Sanofi Pasteur Vaccine Facility Swiftwater, PA
Manager of Facilities Maintenance: Responsible for maintenance on 28 executive and
administration buildings and the corporate campus with 3000 employees. Duties include
management of union and non-union maintenance teams, subcontractors and interface with
corporate engineering on projects.
Coordinated and refined PM and maintenance activities on buildings, HVAC systems,
boilers, grounds, lighting, mechanical rooms, roofing, roadways, sidewalks, plumbing,
kitchens and cafeterias, helipad, elevators, escalators, storm water systems, interior

2006 - 2010: Global Tungsten & Powders Towanda, PA
Senior Project Manager: Responsible for capital project management at the Global Tungsten
metals refining operation. Managed over 30 industrial projects with budgets up to $2 million.
Completed projects that included installation of analytical laboratories, facilities upgrades,
systems validations, office relocations, design and installation of ventilation systems,
material handling systems, a dissociated ammonia separation process, rare earth
separation systems, an ALD reactor lab, dust collection systems, and a new underground
city water supply for the plant.
2004 - 2006: General Electric Waterford, NY
Senior Project Manager: Managed large capital construction projects at GE Silicones chemical
manufacturing plant.
Projects included installation of a $14 million chemical distribution system, 200-ft.
underground tunnel under a state highway, above-ground storage vessels, trestles,
chemical pipelines, a $1.5 million filtration project, and a new warehouse.
1996 - 2004: MACtac (Div. of Bemis, Inc.) Scranton, PA
Senior Project and Facilities Manager: Manager for MACtac's label coating and
manufacturing division and national distribution centers.
Successfully installed a $20 million hot melt coater, Leistritz twin-screw extruder, raw
material bulk storage and handling systems and support utilities.
Provided process engineering and lean manufacturing support for roll coating, slitting and
warehouse operations including, 5S, SPC, time studies, material and labor utilization,
validation and process troubleshooting.
Managed the facility maintenance group and developed a CMMS workorder and inventory
management system. Developed and managed the facility electronic drawing and
document library and provided AutoCAD support.
Managed all cost-savings programs for the Scranton Roll Label and Medical Products
division with savings of $1.2 million per year.
Supervised all plant contractors, negotiated contracts, developed budgets with project
timelines and scopes of work, approved machinery specifications and drawings.
Designed and installed unique paper roll material handling and storage equipment
throughout multiple facilities. Applied for two patents.
Project manager for startup of a national network of slitting and distribution warehouses.
Installed new offices and TAPPI laboratories.
Member of the Bemis corporate energy committee. Saved $ 1.5 million annually through
energy cost reduction projects and natural gas hedging.
3. 1985 - 1996: International Paper (Anitec) Binghamton, NY
Operations Manager: Managed major operations (emulsion crystal plant, film coater, metals
refining, and warehouse and chemicals) with a $25 million operating budget. Reported to the
VP of Manufacturing.
Reduced operating costs by $2 million annually and inventory by 70% through lean
manufacturing techniques and self directed work teams.
Upgraded wastewater treatment and metals recovery operations including new
precipitation operations for silver, new electrolytic silver refining, and a film bleaching,
drying and recycling plant.
Developed a triacetate film recycling process with savings of $ 3.5 million per year. Applied
for a patent.
Commissioned multiple laser web inspection systems on film coaters. Reduced product
losses by $500,000 annually through real-time defect detection.
Managed the chemical packaging operation, warehouse and quality assurance lab.
Operation produced 70 products with sales of $13 million. Developed a computerized MRP
system to manage inventory and forecast demand for 400 raw materials.
Enforced OSHA, DOT, EPA, RCRA, air, water and waste regulations. Achieved a safety
record with no recordable injuries.
