3. An Overview of Hedge Funds
A hedge fund functions as a portfolio of varied
investment products. The term comes from the phrase
"hedging one's bets" and refers to the portfolio's
elasticity: due to the diverse array of investments one
can include in a hedge fund, one can turn a decent
profit regardless of the market's constant fluctuations.
4. An Overview of Hedge Funds
Investors advise filling hedge funds with as many
unique investment strategies as possible in order to
achieve that flexibility. For example, many hedge
funds include bonds, stock options, and undervalued
securities. To date, more than 14 hedge fund strategies
exist. Each perpetuates the portfolio's goal of
minimizing risks to counter volatile market activity.
Because of the many strategies available, financial
professionals recommend allowing experienced
investors to manage portfolios.
