Coordinated GM Racing’s on-site media communications in NASCAR’s most visible series. Developed
communications plan for each of the series’ markets, focused on delivering key messages for General
Motors, Chevrolet and Pontiac. Counseled GM executives on media relations objectives. Facilitated
broadcast, electronic and print media coverage of GM’s core messages through motorsports, including
special programs and milestone events. Coordinated major announcements and press conferences, and
hosted weekly Chevrolet/Pontiac hospitality programs with drivers and other celebrity guests.
CIRCLE TRACK MAGAZINE

Planned, executed and produced 160,000-circulation monthly motorsports technical magazine. Managed
staff of five full-time employees plus more than 40 freelance contributors and photographers. In the
aftermath of Dale Earnhardt’s death, appeared live on NBC Nightly News from Charlotte as expert
commentator. Coordinated promotion activities for annual Circle Track Trade Show in Daytona Beach,
Fla., including vehicle/parts giveaways and Best of Show contests.

Wrote, edited and planned motorsports content for The Nashville Network’s web site. Site – including
country music and other sections – averaged 2 million hits per day. Covered NASCAR on a daily basis,
and broke several major stories, including Dodge’s return to NASCAR and the return of the legendary
A.J. Foyt to NASCAR competition. Wrote and edited scripts for anthology television programming
produced by World Sports Enterprises. Designed and built official web site for the World of Outlaws,
America’s best-known winged sprint car organization and a TNN property.
NATIONAL SPEED SPORT NEWS

Responsible for editorial oversight of nation’s oldest motorsports weekly newspaper, with a full-time
editorial staff of two, as many as 10 part-time employees and nearly 100 free-lance contributors world-wide.
Served as senior writer and wrote most of the paper’s main stories, in addition to covering 50-75
race events per season. Planned and produced 10-12 special issues per year. Led initiatives in promotion,
marketing, circulation and advertising, with emphasis on market outreach and planning. Researched and
implemented conversion to network computer system. Appeared on several live regional and national
radio broadcasts as an expert commentator and served as a weekly contributor to the Indianapolis Motor
Speedway Radio Network. Won American Auto Racing Writers and Broadcasters Association and
Eastern Motorsports Press Association writing awards.

Wrote and edited majority of the content for NSSN on a weekly basis. Covered approximately 60-100
motorsports events each year, including Indianapolis and Daytona 500s and major road-racing events.
