PHYSICAL EDUCATION
SNAG®
only has two clubs. The Launcher™ is used to launch, pitch and chip the ball.
Like a putter, The Roller™ is used to roll the ball toward the target. All shots other than
rolling (putting) are played off a mat and tee called the Launch Pad™. There are a number
of tools that SNAG®
uses to teach the correct way of playing golf.
SNAG®
stands for "Starting New at Golf”.
It is a fun game that is easy to learn and
can be played anywhere. SNAG®
contains
all the elements of golf but in a modified
form.
Falling somewhere between miniature golf
and regulation golf, SNAG®
is a proven
learning and training system.
Anybody can play and it's perfect
for inexpensive fun! The game has its
own simplified rules and terminology,
SNAGology as we call it, that adds fun to
the experience.
Play indoors or outdoors, at the beach,or
on the grass, it’s portable, so you can
make “The World Your Course!”
SNAG®
is well known internationally. In
the USA over 5,000 schools have SNAG®
programs – putting golf on par with other
sports such as basketball and soccer.
Why do you need the
SNAG®
Coaching Program?
There has never been a system dedicated
to the development of new players that
is both so easy to teach and learn. This
system integrates modified equipment with
instruction that makes the learning process
fun.
It is an excellent program for people new to
golf, that integrates the rules of golf and
personal life skills.
Our coaching systems are designed to be
scaled up as you grow. We offer small and
large group packages in three club lengths
for ages five and up.
Our most popular and versatile system is the
All Ages Coaching System. This offers clubs
in every size for every age of new learner
you may be teaching. The coaching system
comes in two sizes: Large and Small. This is
the system we typically provide to schools
and groups, because of the versatility it
provides when teaching a variety of ages in
one class.
SNAG®
can be played by anyone, anywhere!

Key Benefits of the SNAG®
School Physical Education
Program
• SNAG®
includes an extensive curriculum
with age specific lesson plans, student
assessment and numerous activities.
• SNAG®
is easy to teach, even if the teacher
has little or NO golf experience.
• SNAG®
is the most effective method of
teaching golf, is gender neutral and does
not rely on size, speed or athletic ability of
students.
• SNAG®
offers great options for inter-school
competitions and after school programs.
• Learning SNAG®
is only the first step
to enjoying the game. Playing SNAG®
,
practicing SNAG®
and SNAG®
games are
all part of the experience.
What is SNAG?®
SNAG®
Golf is all about having FUN
while learning the basics of golf.
SNAG®
is a player friendly, first touch
development program designed for both
children and adults.
SNAG®
incorporates developmentally appropriate
equipment that allows golf to be learned and
played in alternative venues with immediate,
positive results.
• The psychology of colour is used in each of
the components.
• The five-sided grip ensures that students
hold the club properly.
• The Launch Pad™ makes the game portable
and serves as an alignment tool.
• Targets are used to help the student focus on
aim and accuracy.
• Training tools (some with sounds) help each
student develop skill acquisition quickly.
Our equipment and training tools are specifically
designed to simplify the learning process.
Academic Integration
Golf’s dependence on the integrity of the
individual is responsible for solidifying the
character of the millions who have played it.
Unfortunately, this character-building sport
has rarely, if ever, been effectively offered
as a curriculum option in the world’s school
programs: Until now.
Developed more than 15 years ago by former
PGA Tour players Wally Armstrong and Terry
Anton, SNAG®
provides an excellent entry into the
game of golf, beginning at the earliest stages of
the education system.
The SNAG®
curriculum, developed by Benna
Cawthorn, a two time Disney “Teacherific”
award winner for innovative physical education
programs, incorporates the teaching of all-
important academic parallels and life skills.
The SNAG®
curriculum includes concepts in:
• Mathematics - numeracy, angles,
measurement.
• Physical Education – gross and fine motor
skills, spatial awareness, accuracy.
• Social Studies - communication,
relationships, co-operation.
• Science – (physics) forces, inertia,
acceleration, trajectory.
• Perceptual Motor Program (PMP) -
rotation, balance (stability), movement,
co-ordination, manipulative skills.
• Fundamental Movement Skills - body
awareness, space awareness, qualities
and relationships.
The SNAG®
Golf curriculum includes objectives
in physical health and development, fundamental
movements, locomotor and manipulative skills
The Australian curriculum includes key
competencies featured in the SNAG®
program:
• Thinking.
• Using language/symbols/text.
• Managing self.
• Relating to others.
• Participating/contributing.
