- 1. This is a report of your results for the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator. The MBTI® describes 16 types of people. The
Indicator questions deal with the way you like to use your perception and judgment—the way you gather information
and make decisions. There are four separate preference scales and two opposite preferences on each scale. The four
scales describe where you like to focus your attention (E or I), the way you gather information (S or N), the way you
make decisions (T or F), and how you deal with the outer world (J or P).
Your “type” consists of four letters that represent your four preferences. Your answers to the MBTI questions indicate
that you reported preferences for ENTJ. This is also known as Extraverted Thinking with Intuition.
Below is a graph of your scores on the four preference scales. The length of each bar is based on a formula by
Isabel Myers that compares the two choices for each preference. “Very Clear” means that you chose the preference
consistently. “Slight” means that your choices were more evenly divided. Below the graph is a short explanation of
each preference. Page 2 gives a more detailed summary of your scores. Do your choices seem to fit you?

- 2. Each combination of preferences on the MBTI tends to be characterized by its own set of interests, values, and skills.
Whatever your preferences, you still use some behaviors characteristic of contrasting preferences, but not with equal
liking or skill. This is especially true if your preference score on a scale is “Slight” (under 10). For a more complete
discussion of the types and their vocational and personal implications, see Introduction to Type® by Isabel Briggs Myers.

PHRASE QUESTIONS (Parts I and III of the MBTI) WORD PAIR QUESTIONS (Part II of the MBTI)
These questions ask for responses to everyday events
and may therefore be more influenced by the demands
of these events.
Word pairs are less affected by everyday events and
may be nearer to true preferences.
