WE SHOULD STRIVE TO DO GOOD WITHOUT
CAUSING HARM…
Challenges
87. • Supply Led interventions
• Bicycle GIVEN to women for
dairy purposes, ,they did
not ride it.
• Need to change the notion
of rotary as this HUGE store
that dishes out freebies to
the community, because
this way the impact does
not last
TIPA
88. • Ensuring Sustainability
• How do we prioritize
interventions to ensure
lasting impact in
communities…?
• e.g. what matters most to
this household? Bicycle,
biogas, Water? What
should a project do to
support sustainably?
TIPA
89. • Project
Management
• Need to manage
service projects
like our business
and pass on the
same mentality to
the communities
TIPA
90. • 7 Dar clubs joined
hands to provide
water in schools
around the city.
• Through fundraising,

95. VIJANA POA INITIATIVE
A BRIEF ABOUT ROTARY VIJANA POA
Rotary Vijana Poa is a program initiated by Robert Waggwa Nsibirwa, the Governor District
9211 2015/16 to mobilize, inspire and empower youth to engage them into work and realize
their potential thereby curbing the increasing unemployment levels in Uganda and Tanzania.
We aim at providing youth with employable skills to enable those who seek employment
and entrepreneur skills to enable them to create and innovate, and professionalize their
businesses for self-sustainability.
During its inaugural year (2015/16), out of the 121 clubs in the district, 36 have already initiated
projects and internships to create employment. Over $28,771 has been invested by Rotarians to
train and fund enterprises. 934 have been trained. 119 enterprises started. 41 internships offered.
And as a result, 817 youths have been employed in the process. If we look at the money invested
and the number of jobs created; it amounts to an average of $36 per job created.
