4. FEEDBACK MECHANISM
- Increases the change,
which means there will be
more of a product or a
moving away from a target
point
- Decreases the change,
which means there will be
less of a product or an
action that moves
towards a target point.

5. NERVOUS SYSTEM DISORDERS
1. HEADACHES are
one of the most
common neurological
disorders and can
affect anyone at any
age.
6. 2. EPILEPSY is a
common disorder of the
central nervous system
involving abnormal
electrical activity in the
brain that makes you
more susceptible to
having recurrent,
unprovoked seizures.
7. 3. STROKE
- A stroke is usually
due to a lack of
blood flow to the
brain, oftentimes
caused by a clot or
blockage in an
artery.
8. 4.AMYOTROPHIC
LATERAL SCLEROSIS
- ALS, also known as
Lou Gehrig’s disease, is
a somewhat rare
neuromuscular
condition that affects the
nerve cells in the brain
and spinal cord.
9. 5. Alzheimer’s disease
and dementia
Memory loss is a common
complaint, especially in
older adults. A certain
degree of memory loss is a
normal part of aging.
Dementia is a slowly
progressive condition and
should be evaluated by a
neurologist.
In order to maintain a stable internal environment, the body has to be provided with what it needs to survive;oxygen, nutrients, and waste removal…
ASK: How is it possible?
This means all the organ systems have to collectively work together to maintain homeostasis, constantly adjusting to changes.
(refer to Module, p. 13 – 14)
When one organ do its function..one organ is affected therefore has to respond to the action ..this process is known as FEEDBACK MECHANISM…same in endocrine system and reproductive system …nervous system has its own FEEDBACK MECHANISM which also affect the function of the other organ…
What will happen if the mechanisms or processes in an organ system such as in the nervous system is not properly regulated ?
ANS: the balance or homeostasis will not be achieve therefore might cause or trigger some disorder.. What common disorder or diseases of the nervous system do you know?
The nervous system is a complex, highly specialized network. From sight to smell and walking to speaking, our nervous system organizes, explains and connects us to the world around us…When something goes wrong with a part of the nervous system, however, it can cause a neurological disorder. Neurological disorders affect millions of people each year, yet many people may be unaware they have one.
“Unprovoked means the seizure cannot be explained by exposure to or withdrawal from drugs or alcohol, as well as not due to other medical issues such as severe electrolyte abnormalities or very high blood sugar,”
