This document discusses EPAL's efforts to reduce non-revenue water (NRW) within its distribution network in Lisbon, Portugal. It outlines EPAL's NRW situation and strategy, which aims to reduce NRW from 25% to less than 15% within 3 years. EPAL developed solutions like district metered areas, leak detection and repair, and data analysis software. A case study shows how interventions in one DMA recovered 1 million cubic meters per year, highlighting the benefits of integrating data analysis and active leak control. The conclusions emphasize that EPAL's approach has helped reduce NRW and energy consumption while bringing environmental, economic, and social benefits.
