KNOWLEDGE EXCHANGE SERIES
Recently I had attended a workshop named as “KNOWLEDGE EXCHANGE
SERIES”, organized by Calcutta Management Association (CAO) and MR.
Abhishek Rungta was the main speaker on that program. Firstly I would like to
introduce Abhishek Rungta, the founder and CEO, Indus Net Technologies – a
company with a turnover of Rs 55 core – in just two decades. When I
interacted with him, came to know that he started his business in 1997 and
that time the annual turnover was only 50k, as well as monthly turnover was
5k.
Now let me describe the speech which was delivered by MR. Rungta on that
workshop. Firstly he spoke about ‘Changing Leadership’. According to him,
change is constrained and he is also following this formula in his own
organisation within himself too. Mr. Rungta said according to the changing he
change scenario himself after every two years and also preferred to call him as
a learner.
Whatever I had understood from his speech is that, he is very much focused
person and passionate for his organisation and he is a servant leader.
Therefore in his organisation there is no KPI (key performance indicator) and
KPA (key performance area), i.e employee are evaluated on the basis of their
goal oriented target.
Generally, We know that leadership means forward looking and they always
lead from the front row, but MR. Rungta changed my thought and he advised
for backward looking leadership. According to him, if there is plenty of
opportunity for the employees then a leader should allow his employees to
make them their own strategy to achieve the goal.
In current scenario, most of us talk about skills but MR. Rungta and his
organisation mostly prefer on individual capability. A person may up grate his
skill by various training programs, but capability is totally different from skill
and it is individual’s aspect which help a person to make a decision himself in
any situation.

According to Mr. Rungta, now a days the main problem with the student is
most of them are addicted with Facebook, Amazon, Netflix, Google, Whatsapp,
etc, therefore they use to stay in a imaginary world and seared to face the real
world. he said , it’s a big challenge to those students that how they can avoid
this FANGW.
At the last session I asked him a question that, if an employee is highly
capable but less willing to committed in his job, so what would be his
strategy?
He answered, he would like to follow intrinsic (time, recognition, praise, etc)
motivation, rather than extrinsic (money, resources) motivation.
