 Business ethics is the study of appropriate business policies
and practices regarding potentially controversial subjects
including corporate governance, insider trading, bribery,
discrimination, corporate social responsibility, and fiduciary
responsibilities.
OR
 Business ethics refers to contemporary organizational
standards, principles, sets of values and norms that govern
the actions and behaviour of an individual in the business
organization.
 The ETHICS model is a theoretical grounded ethical
decision-making model that. draws from the latest relevant
literature in ethics and integrates multiple. theoretical
perspectives. Specifically, the model is comprehensive and
accessible, and can be used with a wide range of cases.
WHAT ISTHE BUSINESS ETHICS MODEL ?
The business model in strong ethical principles from the outset
means those values are infused in the venture's culture. It
sets a precedent for what is expected in operations and
influences decision-making and behaviours.
 Ethical performance in business refers to standards of right
or wrong behaviour when dealing with the company's
various stakeholders including customers, employees and
vendors. through a code of conduct among the owner and
employee
This ethical performance in business can be measured in means
of:
 Customer Complaints
 Workplace Ethical Performance
 Contributions to the Community
 Environmental Protection Measures
 Set Goals and Evaluate Performance
1. Code of conduct : business ethics is a code of conduct. It tells
what to do and what not to de for the welfare of the society.
It is followed by all the organization
2. Based on moral and social values: refers to it contains moral
and social rules and principles for doing business.This
includes self-control , consumer protection and welfare
service to society , etc.
3. Gives protection to social groups: it gives protection to
different social groups such as consumer , employees , small
businessmen, government, shareholders, creditors , etc.
4. New concept: it strictly followed only in developed countries
. It is not followed in poor and developing countries.
5. Relative term: it changes from one business to another . It
also changes from one country to another.What is
considered as good in one country may be taboo in another
country.
6.Voluntary: the business man must accept business ethics on
their own . Business ethics must be like self discipline. It must
not enforced by law.
