3. 1.0 Introduction
On 18 April 2018 (Wednesday), our institute (Imperia institute of technology) was
organised an site visit on Mukim Morib, Daerah Kuala Langat, Selangor. The project Title is
Cadangan pembangunan “water park” di atas sebahagian Lot 13213, mukim morib. On the day
we was arrived there on 10.30am, of course one day before the lecture was already giving an
safety instruction and assignment brief to the student. After we entering to the site, we meet up
with the project QS MR. Lee, he come to brief to the student about the project detail and the
progress.
1.1 Objective of site visit
 To observe the different activities and techniques carried out on site.
 To learn about the various types of machinery that using in the construction site such as
the crane, bar cutting machine, and scaffolding.
 To learn and understand the importance of safety and take note of the accidents that may
happen before entering into a construction site.
 To know and learn about the construction site environment that will face when becoming
a Quantity Surveyor.

4.  To have a very close perspective of the whole building structure rather than seeing it in
the illustrations.
2.0 Project summary / Detail

5. 3.0 Observation & question
The 1st things that after we arrive the site is, Mr. Lee (QS) going brief to us about the detail of
site.
After that we starting to climb up to 2nd and 3rd floor of the building using the scarfolding,
because of the building was still on early stage and there was doesn’t have any staricase to let us
going to the upper floor.
4.0 Activity progress of work

6. The photo above was taken from the ground floor, there was alot of scarfolding that need to
support the floor slab on the top. Then the second photo was showing the vertical shaft of the
tower crane .
After all of us arrived to the top floor, Mr. Lee brief to us again about the current work that the
worker doing.

7. So the worker was installing the BRC reinforcemen to receive concrete.

7.0 Site Valuation Process
This photo are the floor plan drawing, and this water park project was still under early stage and
it doesn’t has any finishes yet on the site. The estimate date of the project complete was on 23
may 2020.

10. 8.0 Conclusion
After the construction site visit, we learn a lot of experience and construction knowledge
that we can’t learn during in the class. Most of the student they are first time to climb up the
scaffolding, it is a good try to us. And it also a good starting for us to become a future QS.
Besides that, we have learned about the various types of machinery that using in the
construction site such as the crane, bar cutting machine, and scaffolding. Safety is very important
when entering the site because that are a lot of dangers on the site.
Finally, after this visited it helped for more understanding for the challenges and
environment going to face in future at the construction site. In overall, we had learned and gained
a lot of experience that cannot get in the classroom and more confident to face with the
challenges as a Quantity Surveyor in future.
