13. Information to the People Who Need it (MII 14.0)
The Plant Information Catalog provides business context to the tags and their data by interfacing to the tag data servers in a
generic way. Because of the vendor agnostic system connectivity provided by both the MII and PCo products, levels in this
hierarchy can be queried for data using standard MII Queries or Services. This is ideal for the SAP EAM solution to acquire
“Measurement Point” exception data to support Condition-Based Maintenance and other various solutions.

15. Microsoft & SAP Solution for Manufacturing
O365 in MII 14
JOINT SOLUTION DESCRIPTION:
Provide additional self-service and ad-hoc reporting
capability to consume real time intelligence from shop
floor data (across multiple platforms, PC, tablet,
Mobile). Across single or multiple sites via cloud based
support and local reporting via both MII and Office
365
Office 365 should be core to the EMI solution in order
to leverage a large business user skill set at many
manufacturing facilities.
Leveraging the Microsoft Power View for ad-hoc
analysis makes sense to manufacturing workers today
and the integration allows consistent data visualization
across any reports that are compiled by the business.
The composition and publishing of Office 365 based
reports should be from a Microsoft SharePoint server,
rather than foster the current client side duplication.
This allows server based composition, publication,
consumption, and consistent data collaboration around
Excel and Office 365 documents.
16. Microsoft & SAP alliance on Manufacturing
SAP NEWSBYTE — June, 2013 — SAP AG (NYSE: SAP) today announced it is working with
Microsoft Corp. to develop the first real-time incorporation of shop floor information using SAP MII and
Microsoft Office 365, bringing greater manufacturing visibility to the flexible Microsoft Office solutions.
MAIN BENEFITS:
Lower TCO for EMI - Enabling additional self-service and ad-hoc
capabilities that will provide visibility to live manufacturing data to
more people
Accurate Decision Making - Faster decisions made on common
data feeds and sources
Local Data from Local Reports from Local Systems - Ensures
speed of the data and live access to it as well

SAP HCM is based on our global experience in developing integrated HR processes in every region. Here you see only a few of the companies that rely on the integrated SAP platform, TCO, reduced complexity and increased process effectiveness.
These customer executives, in turn, share real-world insights from their particular region, which the new SAP uses to create the best practices that make SAP HCM the global standard.
As you can see from this slide, SAP works with companies from around the globe. Their executives discuss their key challenges and opportunities with us. SAP in turn uses these insights to create the best practices we have embedded into our solutions.
The combination of our industry leading capabilities and real-time process flows enables you to have a “clean handshake” whenever electronic information needs to be passed.
