4. ABSTRACT
Home security system is needed for conv
enience and safety. This system invented to kee
p home safe from intruder. In this work, we pre
sent the design and implementation of a GSM
based wireless home security system. which ta
ke a very less power. The system is a wireless h
ome network which contains a GSM modem an
d magnet with relay which are door security no
des
5. OBJECTIVE
Objective of this project is to control our home
appliance from remote area.
There are many home wireless based devices for contr
olling processes, but they are more expensive.
So here we are using all the basic things that are used
in our daily life like cell phones, SIM cardsGSM mod
em etc.. which will control home
appliances indeed make our project cheaper
and very simple to use.
6. INTRODUCTION
From last few years home security is an essential
requirement of households to keep home safe from
intruders to get rob.
So the researchers and companies tried to impleme
nt an algorithm and make some gradates that keep
your home safe from intruders.
This leads to advance technology that make your
home intelligent or modern which can be called as
home automation system also.
8. INTRODUCTION
With the use of new technology, to make the domestic activities mo
re convenient, comfortable, secure and economical.
The home automation system includes main components which
are:
User Interface: as A monitor, computer, or phone, for example, that
can give orders to control system.
Mode of transmission: wired connections (example Ethernet) or
wireless (radio waves, infrared, Bluetooth, GSM) etc.
Central controller: it is hardware interface that communicates with
user interface by controlling domestic Services electronic devices,
A lamp, an AC or A heater, which is compatible with the transmissi
on mode, and connected to the central control system.
10. Relays:
Relays are like switches, it makes the device on and off c
onnected to it, we generally use electro mechanical relay. It operat
es up on the voltages given to it.
GSMmodule
is used in many communication devices which are based
on GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications) technology
. It is used to interact with GSM network using a computer. GSM
module only understands AT commands, and can respond accordi
ngly.
14. WORKING
In this project, MICRO CONTROLLER is used for controlling whole the process.
Here we have used GSM wireless communication for controlling home appliances. We
send some commands like “#Alight on*”, “#Alight off*” and so on for controlling AC
home appliances. After receiving given commands by Arduino through GSM, Arduino
send signal to relays, to switch ON or OFF the home appliances using a relay driver.
15. SOFTWARE DESCRIPTION
Keil Micro vision for developing and editing the source code.
Flash magic for burning the hex code on to the development
board.
Programming Language used is Embedded C.
KEIL SOFTWARE :
o Keil software provides the ease of writing the code in either C or
Keil –vision5.
o The Keil software combines Project management, Source Code
Editing and Program Debugging in one powerful Environment.
16. ADVANTAGES :
The loss of power can be reduced and manpower required for ho
me automation is very less compared to conventional methods.
The IR, RF, android application, Arduino, Bluetooth, DTMF, etc
., based home automation systems can be more efficient, provid
es ease of operation.
Provides safety from electrical power short circuits while using
conventional wall switches to operate loads.
By using a home automation system, we can save a lot of time t
o operate home appliances from anywhere
DISADVANTAGES :
Network sometimes fails due to GSM shield. This can be achie
ved by choosing high range frequency and good wireless equip
ment.
17. CONCLUSIONS
In this project we explained different ho
me automation system e.g. Web based, email based, Blu
etooth-based, mobile-based, SMS based, ZigBee-based,
Dual Tone Multi Frequency-based, cloud-based and Int
ernet based. In future home automation will more smart
and fast. It would be extended to the large-scale environ
ment such as colleges, offices and factories etc.
18. FUTURESCOPE
1.The following can also be implemented using this method
Security door lock system
Home alarm system
Security camera
Mobile Application
2.The disadvantage of GSM signal failing can be achieved by ch
oosing high range frequency and good wireless equipment.
