2. Then I put together some costume
ideas. I went through my wardrobe for
any clothes I thought were suitable
and decided on costume ideas.
Other clothes from my model were also
put into the book and used on the
shoot. I think the mixture of clothes
- mostly vintage pieces - created a
unique indie feel for the shoot, that
represents what the readers are
wearing or aspire to wear. They also
match the styles of clothing of other
indie artists.

4. I also gathered together accessories -
including shoes, coats, nail-polish,
bracelets and necklaces. Some of which were
put into the book, so I could establish the
look I was wanting to achieve, help prompt me
during the shoot for ideas and put across to
the model which type of accessories to bring.
5. I also collected
lots of props that
matched the retro
theme I was aiming
for. I also tried to
include props that
connoted music, like
headphones and a
guitar which were
heavily used in the
shoot.
However I felt that using items like the gold
frame, would create a more artistic and
individual look that would stand out. It also
portrays the feeling of having the artist “in
the frame”, which was an interesting idea that
I wanted to explore during the shoot.
6. Before going out to take some
establishing shots of my locations (which
is in part 4), I quickly sketched a few
storyboards so that I had an idea of what
sort of angle I wanted to shoot in some
of the locations.
