Activity: 20 minutes and 10 minutes sharing
Tell the story of someone using your service.
Did you spot any gaps? Any links? Any new outcomes or pathways? What about users’ motivations?
Two of the most important elements of design are being visual, and telling stories.
Helps convey complex ideas more simply
Makes it real/human
Allows lots of different people to contribute
Helps you to recognize links or gaps between elements
Storyboards are a series of drawings or pictures that visualise a sequence of events. They are another way to capture the experiences of people using a service and incorporate them into the design process. They can capture a partial process or an overall process. They can be real, or hypothetical or imagined. Sometimes they may depict divergent outcomes based on paths chosen or decisions made. By depicting a service in its proper context – even if it doesn’t exist yet, you can provoke meaningful discussion and analysis.
