It is a stable sate of characteristics and tendencies that determine those
commonalities and difference in psychological behaviour of people have continuity in
time, and may not be easily understood as the sole result of the social and biological
pressure of the movement.
IMPORTANC OF PERSONALITY
 Personality grooms an individual and helps him to make a mark
of his/her own.
 It help to go a long way in reducing stress and conflicts.
 It help you to develop positive attitude.
 It helps an individual to inculcate positive qualities like
punctuality, flexible attitude, willingness to learn, friendly nature,
eagerness to help others and so on.

BIG Five Personality Traits
Human Resources professionals often use the BIG Five personality
dimensions to help place employees. That is because these dimensions are
considered to be the underlying traits that makeup an individuals overall
personality.
Extraversion dimension focuses on the comfort
level of an individual in interaction with others.

• Talkative
Agreeableness dimension refers to an individuals behaviour
towards others while interacting with them.
• Good Natured
• Cooperative
• Trustworthy
Conscientiousness dimension refers to which individual show
consistent and reliable behavior while working in the organization.

• Dependable
• Persistent
• Self-disciplined
Openness to experience dimension measures the individuals ability
to be open to any kind of experience that helps him/her to do the
job effectively.
• Creative
• Curious
• Artistically Sensitive
• Flexible

Emotional Stability dimension refers to the ability of
an individual to control his/her emotions at the time
of crisis.
