RESUMEN
Objetivo: Establecer la relación entre conocimientos
sobre Diabetes Mellitus y estado nutricional en
pacientes diabéticos tipo II en tres establecimientos
de salud de primer nivel (policlínicos de Essalud
Huancayo, El Tambo y Chilca) de enero a setiembre
2011.
Material y Métodos: Es un estudio aplicativo
cuantitativo, descriptivo, de tipo correlacional
comparativo. Donde se incluyeron a 2990 pacientes
diabéticos tipo II atendidos en el programa de
enfermedades crónicas no transmisibles que
pertenecen a la cartera de atención del adulto
mayor de los policlínicos de Essalud de Huancayo, El
Tambo, y Chilca. Los datos fueron recolectados
mediante el instrumento DKQ 24, que mide
conocimientos básicos sobe la enfermedad, control
de glucosa, y prevención de complicaciones. Los
datos recolectados fueron codificados e
introducidos al programa estadístico SPSS 19 para
su tabulación. Se realizo u análisis bivariante, se
utilizó el estadístico de Tau-c de Kendall. Los datos
obtenidos fueron analizados en frecuencia y
porcentaje.
Resultados: 78% (299) pacientes presentan
sobrepeso, obesidad tipo I, II y obesidad extrema. Se
estableció la relación entre el nivel de
conocimientos básicos sobre Diabetes Mellitus y el
estado nutricional según Tau-c de Kendall
0.016<0.050, con significancia aproximada de 0,016.
Conclusiones: Existe una relación positiva débil
entre nivel de conocimientos sobre Diabetes
Mellitus tipo 2 y el estado nutricional inadecuado.
Palabras Claves: Diabetes Mellitus tipo 2, Nivel de
conocimientos, Estado nutricional diabetes.
