It’s hard to believe it has come around so quickly, but The Sydney
Morning Herald Good Food Month presented by Citi, is upon us
again. The team and I have developed an exciting program of
one-off events and special menus from some of Australia’s best
chefs, restaurateurs, baristas, bartenders and providores.
We’re also delighted to welcome some key global influencers
to Sydney in October.
This year’s program is jam-packed with everything food-lovers
could want. We’re championing local talent by reviving our ‘Hats
Off’ dinners, staging wild picnics and so much more. We’re thrilled
to welcome a stellar line-up that features an eclectic collection
of international guests, including Editor-in-chief of Lucky Peach,
Chris Ying; US ramen master Ivan Orkin; Pulitzer Prize-winning
LA Times food critic Jonathan Gold; and London-based artisan
baker, food writer and author Dan Lepard.
Among the highlights of this year’s program is the Josephine Pignolet 25th Anniversary Young Chefs
Dinner at Rockpool est. 1989, with each course cooked by past winners.
In keeping with the current obsession around all things baked, fried, iced, creamed, dusted and colourful we are
launching a new event called ‘Sweetfest’, which takes place on the weekend of 17–18 October. Ever wondered
what happens when you drop desserts from a tree, or what a space unicorn cake looks like? Here’s your chance

that combines Australia’s passion for food
and photography.
The competition is open nationally as part
of this year’s Good Food Month presented
by Citi. Everyone is welcome to pick up
their camera and tackle the challenge,

The brief is simple: shoot a chef (or your
interpretation of one). It can be a three-

The team and I have developed an exciting program of one-off events and special menus from some of Australia’s best chefs, restaurateurs, baristas, bartenders and providores. We’re also delighted to welcome some key global influencers to Sydney in October. This year’s program is jam-packed with everything food-lovers could want. We’re championing local talent by reviving our ‘Hats Off’ dinners, staging wild picnics and so much more.
