MOTIVATION OF RESEARCH
‘ Amusement park ’ including the ones located in Seoul
has been regarded as the best leisure area for families with children for a long time.
The modern meaning of Amusement park, Disney Land was opened in 1950.
Afterwards, as the industry was developed, each of the countries in the world had an increased profit from tourism that
various theme parks started being emerged in terms ofwelfare for the public.
According to KOLE, the number of users of Amusement park exceeded 2,430 in 2011, and it is expected for it to be con-
tinuously increased (2011, National Statistical Office)

As particular types of Amusemnet park focusing on various
types of education specifically designed for children
were emerged, people started preferring to go to kids
cafe where were located near the them and also in the city.
This has led the usage rate of amusement park

-There might be a geographical limitation since a survey was cond

- Since there was a limitation in identifying opinion of children,
it was replaced by the one from parents. It is difficult to identify
the needs of children that communication is not made seamlessly.
- It is difficult for the results of study from an interview and survey
conducted on 50 subjects to represent the opinion of the entire
visitors.

ABSTRACT
This study anticipates that users can solve their waiting time-related complaints by using waiting time for other services in the theme park,
especially through this location-based mobile reservation application provided through users’smart phone lock screen. This application
will play an important role in increasing users’satisfaction with theme parks, further being guide lines to reduce waiting time-related comp

1.What is amusement park?
Amusement parks located in Seoul have developed as non-usual spaces, and established amusement parks should be con
tinuously operated and managed to adapt to feedback and changing times. They are designed so that families can enjoy
the place during the day, and they are also designed with one core theme or consecutive themes including attractions,
display, and play.
Milman (1991) said that an amusement park is a place to create a different place and environment of the time and is well
harmonized with structures, landscapes, trained staff, play facilities, food/beverage, and themes selected with items as
a part of creating a dominating environment.
In modern days, theme parks have been exerting effort to draw attention from people by emphasizing unique characteristics
and theme representation on top of basic concepts.
As for basic characteristics of an amusement park, there are theme features, uniqueness, unity, integrity, and complicatedness.
At this time, it is most important to realize particular concepts in a amusement park and connect them as a one particular story.
There is a need to come up with software-oriented thoughts over hardware-based ideas to create a desirable and idealistic
image of a theme park to customers.
In addition, it is important to continuously analyze the main business targets, children, so that they can visit amusement
parks even when they grow up with long lasting memory.

OVER SEAS KOREA
When considering successful foreign cases, there is a cons
-istency in terms of characters, play facilities, landscapes,
service facilities, games, and iterations based on the story
and themes. In addition, an effort is being made to attract
customers for a life-long period by establishing the amuse
ment park based on services specifically targeting children.
Interaction Design based on Content at Kids Play Zone in
Theme Park (2011, Sungjoong Kang) suggested that highly
ranked amusement parks have been maintaining an image
of the park with configuration of continuous and unique
software and also well-structured stories in connection
with them.
Amusement parks are famous in Korea as they are highly
ranked all over the nation. Two of the highly ranked Amuse
ment parks are currently in competition with each other to app
eal to more customers. In Korea, playing facilities for children
and the ones for adults are not usually separated in theme
parks. However, considering how the main targets are child
ren, the courses designed for children were suggested.
When investigating the cases through major searching routes
with keywords in Naver (children playing courses, playing
facilities for children, and playing facilities children might like),
most of the people were found to obtain information from
the blogs of others.

LotteWorld
LotteWorld has opened the erea of theme parks in Korea in
July 12th, 1989, and was recorded on Guinness Book in 1995
as the largest scale indoor theme park located in the city of
Jamwon-dong, Songpa-gu, Seoul, in Korea. It has been also
evaluated as the world-class theme park with ‘Disney Land’
in Japan and America. This theme park is connected with the
subway line 2 representing an easy access. There are 53 bus
lines connected to this theme park that people in a tight
schedule are still able to visit during the day without burden
on the distance. Therefore, young people prefer to visit this
place. There are reminiscent courses for family members,
love course for lovers, and thrill mania courses with friends
as suggested routes. However, they have not been successful
in attracting people due to inconvenience for having to
search for every area before visiting and insufficient adver
tisement compared to the high needs of people that prefer
to efficiently spend time in the play facilities.

Everland
Starting from Jayunnongwon as the first family park in
1976, it was renamed to Ever Land in 1996, and maintained
as a theme park since then. Due to a distance from Seoul,
this theme park has a geographic disadvantage for acce
-ssibility. However, public transportation is always ready
to use, and amusement park is also making an effort to
attract tourists through regular lines with tour buses in
order to solve this accessibility issue. Special courses for
children as a main target are being established at the am
usement park delivering the information to online blog or
application. However, children are not used to smart devi

advantage for children to use them.

Only 5 out of 50 respondents answered on ‘I know ’
Q2. “ If you know about children course, what routes were you using
to get information? ”
They responded the routes of obtaining the information from blogs
(2 people), application (1 person), and friends (1 person).
[Figure 2] and [figure3] show they are not give information directely.
In addition, according to the inquiries on the keywords about children
courses in the searching website advertisement system, searching rate
was turned out to be less than 30 times per month. [Figure1]
Such a result represents that people are not well aware of children cou

5. Limitations of children course in Korean amusement parks
Most of the amusement parks tend to make an effort more
on providing non-daily spaces that are different from the real
worldas well as the themes on a particular subject.
However, internal attractions and facilities are dispersed wi
thout having a unified image, and the follow-up management
and operation ability after establishing the amusement parks
are significantly lower than the ones in foreign countries.
Therefore, they are of a reason for limiting the intention of re
-visit. In addition, the service is being designed for and provi
ded to children as a main target by recognizing the importance
of amusement parks from the changes in demographic structure.
However, they are not serving their own role well enough due
to limitation of available information online and also lack of
advertisement.

PERSONAL EXPERIENCE
Amusement park was like a huge world to me when I was
young, and all my family members were looking for my sister
We ended up finding her crying with stranger.
I thought the service for lost children was unsuccessful in
the amusement park, and the broadcasting system in the
park was much unorganized.
However, when I visited amusement park, I still felt that the
role of center for lost children has not been much improved
Starting from a horrible experience , I initiated this project
in a hope to improve the service for children as a main target
of amusement park.
BACKGROUND DEVELOPMENT SOLUTION
I visited amusement park frequently with parents or friends
when I was young. The most memorable in my head was that
I lost my younger sister.
BUSINESS ORIGAMI
Amusement park sets were created to configure the space in the park expressing interactions occurred when people conf
ronted each other or between objects in the paper-made models that were well fitted to particular situations, circumstan
ces and people. The paper pop-up tokens that are placed on the set represent people, locations, artifacts, services, rides,
roads in the amusement park. These are placed on a whiteboard, and a dry-erase marker is used to help illustrate relation
-ships between people and people or people and amusement park (staff, rides, services) whole situation. In this research,
I found problems (needs) in details. Bringing the service elements into the physical dimension allowed me to understand
the overall scenario more easily.

roles, and backgrounds were distributed in order understanding the issues and recognizing the relationship between major
characters. I have understood all the situations prior to conducting a survey.

FIANL ANALYSIS OF RESEARCH
Amusement parks are currently providing recommended courses for children making an effort to acquire the targeted
customers. However, there are weaknesses that they are only available online prior to visiting the amusement park, and
customers are not well aware of them due to insufficient advertisement
According to the result of trend on keywords in ‘ Naver’ , the
searching rate of ‘LotteWorld/ Ever Land’ was 0%,
and the frequency of searching ‘Amusement park children
course’ was turned out to be less than 30.
In addition, the way the rides are distributed in the large
sized amusement parks cause long circulation times for
children which delays enjoyment and also causes them to
waste their time due to insufficient information about rides.
Signs installed for a better understanding or guidance
related to the service are not helpful for children to under
stand. and also they have much difficulty to use their sma
rt phone inside of amusement park.
So it is important to establish the world for children through
children courses combined with on-offline through accurate
analysis of the needs of children and their parents.

An added bonus is the parent swap program designed for parents
who want to ride some of the adult attractions but have younger
children. With the parent swap pass, one parent waits in line while
the other takes the kid. After the ride is over, that parent hands
the operator the ride pass, takes the child and allows the other
parent to ride without having to wait in line.
Save the standby time and fulfill requirements from the intera
ction and also the guardian swap program for parents who can
not go on the rides because of children.
Catering almost exclusively to younger children, Legoland's real
draw is the fact that's it's actually an alterna-theme park, containing
traditional rides and attractions as well as other family-friendly
activities like a fossil dig, Lego factory tour and mini golf.
Unique service is prepared exclusively for children, and many of
the available courses bring the joy beyond the Lego Park.
Small and family-run, this holiday-themed park has a few roller
coasters but caters largely to kids ages 12 and below.
Provide roller-coaster for fulfilling children aged less than 12.

ANALYSIS OF USABILITY TESTING
BACKGROUND DEVELOPMENT SOLUTION
Q. Do you think that this children course will solve a long
-time non-daily issue?
p 1, 2: All the children were happy since they were able to enter their own information and be provided with optimized courses
p 4: Relieved from a less burden on children that could freely enjoy the place beyond the sight of them
p 3: Natural storytelling seems to serve as a role of parents and establish the distinct identity of amusement park
p 2: If children grow a bit more, it would be available for them to go without worrying much
Q. Are you willing to recommend this service to others?
Q. Do you think that the method using this service (wearab
le device) is appropriate?

Since the price of wearable device was particularly determined, they felt that they would be used without much burden.
In addition, they provided an opinion that the device in the form of bracelet would be used the best in the amusement park
However, if there is a burden on the security deposit, they said that they might have to reconsider

of physical strength from a long distance
circulation and experience it in person with
five senses to enjoy amusement park
Use the virtual guide system to feel convenience
and safety, and children will feel as a part of
members in the amusement park. It relieves a
burden of parents against the lack of information
of service in the amusement park making both
parents and children satisfied with the experience
Children feel accomplished to help someone
through the campaign for them to make donation
to poor children.
Provide them an opportunity to meet customers
with similar needs and interact with partners in

I have teamed up with other students who wanted to do research focus on the children. We had discuss
about big issues of children in modern days, and we made a title “Technology for children ”and we focused on
wearable devices for children.
Very early research questions
1.What is parents needs for children in Korea?
2.What is children's needs for parents in Korea?
3.What children's doing when parents are working ?
4.Which technology is useful for children ?
5.Which divice is easy to use for children ?
6. Positive things about technology ?
I studied about children education for 1-term project in UK, from this research, i found out that childrens
need is haveing fun, so i decieded to do research more about what can be changed to make the children
more fun and enjoy.
We made a study group for study about research methods which are helpful to research about childrens’
needs. and I found some of useful methods to do research from this book
The design experience “ Life context - Engagement - Experience - Resolution ”
To understand design experience model, we compared two models “ KaKaoTalk” and “ NateOn”
In the first lecture, I have recommended some books
Designing Pleasurable Products, Qualitative Inquiry and Research Design and Universal Methods of Design etc...
I have been reading ‘ Designing Pleasurable Products ’ by Patrick W. Jordan
There are four main pleasures, Psycho - Socio- Physio - Ideo
1. Physio -Pleasure
Emotion - touch taste and smell as well as feelings of sensual pleasure.
ex) the smell inside a new car maybe a factor that affects how pleasurable it is for the owner.
2. Socio - Pleasure (Interactive - pleasure)
The relationship with others (friends colleagues or with like-minded people) - ex) super car
3. Psycho - Pleasure
Emotional reactions. cognitive demands of using the product and the emotional retains engendered
through experiencing the product
4. Ideo - Pleasure (Sight)
People's values ex) concerned environmental issues / Green design things,Tomes shoes and Benetton

About thesis project
b. Kakao talka. Nate On
Semina with James Powderly (product manager of Samsung)
He talked about Human Interaction and he tried to show his project what he has been doing for a long time
it was great time to see different works about user experience design.
Brand experience design.
Experiential : How should the buyer feel when he or she purchases the product or service ?
How should this be communicated in the design ?
Functional : What benefit does this brand provide to the buyer ? How can this be communicat
ed in the design ? And should this be done directly or implicitly ?
Emotional : How would we like the customer to feel about owning this brand ?
And how will he or she actually feel, given our chosen design strategy ?
Rational : Alternatively, will this brand appeal to the logical side of our buyer ?
Is this what we want? And how can this be communicated in the design ?
Cultural : is there a culture of buying this brand ? Among whom? Why? Does the brand reflect
this? Or does the culture of buying it reflect the brand?
Visual : What should this brand look like? And why? Elements here include color, typography,
logo, and packaging. How will these appeal to the target market?
I studied about some brands which is really good case of branding.
NATE ON started to make better messenger than MSN and to make a suitable messenger to Korean.
NATE ON was connected to Cyworld so it was easy to find friend and also can use cyber money called
" Dotori " that is used in cyworld. could be used in nate on. It is used in companies a lot to communicate
with co-workers.It is possible to use Cyworld Nate on and Nate with onsingle ID.
When lots of communication media such as naver blog and Facebook people started not to use cyworld
anymore. Nate on was not good for using on the mobiles and because people cannot communicate when
people were offline. it was difficult to communicate when they are away from the computer.
So people wanted to use an application that can be communicate in any condition and more than just
communicating service withe free charge. with kakao talk people can use games, emoticon, payment, gift
service, online shop and so on.Kakao talk was able to used from outside of Korea and can access in laptop
and computers. They kept updating the service adding more service that makes the users more satisfy
Now the Kakao talk is the main messenger service in Korea now.
from this work, I though that UX designer should keep the study about people’s needs and trends to bette
communication with people.

Stake holder map
The paper pop-up tokens that are placed on the set represent people, locations, artifacts, services,
rides, roads in the amusement park. These are placed on a whiteboard, and a dry-erase marker is used
to help illustrate relationships between people and people or people and amusement park
(staff, rides, services) whole situation. In this research, I found problems (needs) in details.
Bringing the service elements into the physical dimension allowed me to understand the overall scenario
more easily.
Question Development Process
Interest : Research title / project Aims
Why ? Clear motivation through research background
How can I ? Clear research question should include
Target User + Needs Wants + Business Insights
Amusement park sets were created to configure the space in the park expressing interactions occurred
when people confronted each other or between objects in the paper-made models that were well fitted to
particular situations, circumstances and people.
All the people in the interest in children service in the amusement park were reminded through brainstor
ming process dividing them to children, parents, and workers at the amusement park to create a map.
Then, the hierarchical relationship, roles, and backgrounds were distributed in order understanding the issues
and recognizing the relationship between major characters.
I have understood all the situations prior to conducting a survey.
Chose to research about enjoyment of children.

3. A Study of the Analysis for Visual Design Elements ofTheme Park
They studied Amusement Parks which are very important places for leisure in modern society.
They tried to understand consumers needs and develop the service.
But in Korea, there are no studies for childrens experience at amusement parks.
I think this would be a good chance to try and clarify what alot of people haven’t researched in to.

2-term Proposal
30.03.2015
Small Group Interview
In order to listen to opinion from parents coming to the amusement park with children aged from 3 to 12 as
a main target of the project, I have conducted 1:1 interview with 3 participants.
By revealing the potential defects that might have been experienced by them in the amusement park,
it was intended to avoid the extreme situations and utilize data needed for the follow-up survey.
13.04.2015
Observation
I have visited an amusement park and i did obsevation using 3 different methods
Shawdoing / Interview / Behavioral mapping
Continuing to look up exisiting documents and found related articles
13.04.2015
Trying to gather as much of relative data as possible which will be helpful when i suggest new service
Finished case studies (positive case) : providing many of the services for communication
with children as a main target of the business and creating their brand identity with their own stories

I made Questionnaire and i started survey through ‘Survey monkey’ website
also i made format for diary study

Research Question
What would make it possible for children to create joyous memory in the amusement park ?
Research for the service to be provided to children experiencing unforgettable memories and also children
courses at the amusement park
PDP
15.04.2015 - 20.04.2015
I contucted and analysis of whole research date based on children and their parents needs
After that, i made new service for children at amusement park
Finished usability testing and analyzed effets of the new service using 4pleasure and 3steps of experience
I found limitation of the research
There might be a geographical limitation since a survey was conducted only on amusement parks locat
ed in Seoul.and since there was a limitation in identifying opinion of children, it was replaced by the one
from parents. It was difficult to identify the needs of children that communication is not made seamlessly.
Also it was difficult for the results of study from an interview and survey conducted on 50 subjects to
represent the opinion of the entire visitors.
24.04.2015
After the 1st presentation (Peer review)
i decided to make storyboard and conlusion of research pages whichare make people can easy to und
erstand process of the project.
I learned that UX designers play an important role for people who don't know what they want, or people
who are aware of their needs, but had no chance to express them. Also another thing I realized that unders
tanding deeper needs of peoples by observation, specifying them through surveys, and triggering people’s
motivations are also specifications that designer should comply with, and UX designis not a single desig
ning stage but a whole process.
I believe that such experience is a valuable asset, and will be very helpful when proceeding with other
projects in the future.

  • 13. DESK RESEARCH 1.What is amusement park? Amusement parks located in Seoul have developed as non-usual spaces, and established amusement parks should be con tinuously operated and managed to adapt to feedback and changing times. They are designed so that families can enjoy the place during the day, and they are also designed with one core theme or consecutive themes including attractions, display, and play. Milman (1991) said that an amusement park is a place to create a different place and environment of the time and is well harmonized with structures, landscapes, trained staff, play facilities, food/beverage, and themes selected with items as a part of creating a dominating environment. In modern days, theme parks have been exerting effort to draw attention from people by emphasizing unique characteristics and theme representation on top of basic concepts. As for basic characteristics of an amusement park, there are theme features, uniqueness, unity, integrity, and complicatedness. At this time, it is most important to realize particular concepts in a amusement park and connect them as a one particular story. There is a need to come up with software-oriented thoughts over hardware-based ideas to create a desirable and idealistic image of a theme park to customers. In addition, it is important to continuously analyze the main business targets, children, so that they can visit amusement parks even when they grow up with long lasting memory. “ ONE STORY ” BACKGROUND DEVELOPMENT SOLUTION

Analysis of Amusement Park service for children OVER SEAS KOREA When considering successful foreign cases, there is a cons -istency in terms of characters, play facilities, landscapes, service facilities, games, and iterations based on the story and themes. In addition, an effort is being made to attract customers for a life-long period by establishing the amuse ment park based on services specifically targeting children. Interaction Design based on Content at Kids Play Zone in Theme Park (2011, Sungjoong Kang) suggested that highly ranked amusement parks have been maintaining an image of the park with configuration of continuous and unique software and also well-structured stories in connection with them. Amusement parks are famous in Korea as they are highly ranked all over the nation. Two of the highly ranked Amuse ment parks are currently in competition with each other to app eal to more customers. In Korea, playing facilities for children and the ones for adults are not usually separated in theme parks. However, considering how the main targets are child ren, the courses designed for children were suggested. When investigating the cases through major searching routes with keywords in Naver (children playing courses, playing facilities for children, and playing facilities children might like), most of the people were found to obtain information from the blogs of others. “ ONE STORY ” “ FOR CHILDREN ” “ SPECIAL SOFTWARE ” KEYWORD NO INFORMATION BACKGROUND DEVELOPMENT SOLUTION

Limitations of children course in Korean amusement parks Most of the amusement parks tend to make an effort more on providing non-daily spaces that are different from the real worldas well as the themes on a particular subject. However, internal attractions and facilities are dispersed wi thout having a unified image, and the follow-up management and operation ability after establishing the amusement parks are significantly lower than the ones in foreign countries. Therefore, they are of a reason for limiting the intention of re -visit. • 55. PDP 13.02.2015 12.02.2015 09.02.2015 13.02.2015 I have teamed up with other students who wanted to do research focus on the children. We had discuss about big issues of children in modern days, and we made a title “Technology for children ”and we focused on wearable devices for children. Very early research questions 1.What is parents needs for children in Korea? 2.What is children's needs for parents in Korea? 3.What children's doing when parents are working ? 4.Which technology is useful for children ? 5.Which divice is easy to use for children ? 6. Positive things about technology ? I studied about children education for 1-term project in UK, from this research, i found out that childrens need is haveing fun, so i decieded to do research more about what can be changed to make the children more fun and enjoy. We made a study group for study about research methods which are helpful to research about childrens’ needs. and I found some of useful methods to do research from this book The design experience “ Life context - Engagement - Experience - Resolution ” To understand design experience model, we compared two models “ KaKaoTalk” and “ NateOn” In the first lecture, I have recommended some books Designing Pleasurable Products, Qualitative Inquiry and Research Design and Universal Methods of Design etc... I have been reading ‘ Designing Pleasurable Products ’ by Patrick W. Jordan There are four main pleasures, Psycho - Socio- Physio - Ideo 1. Physio -Pleasure Emotion - touch taste and smell as well as feelings of sensual pleasure. ex) the smell inside a new car maybe a factor that affects how pleasurable it is for the owner. 2. Socio - Pleasure (Interactive - pleasure) The relationship with others (friends colleagues or with like-minded people) - ex) super car 3. Psycho - Pleasure Emotional reactions. cognitive demands of using the product and the emotional retains engendered through experiencing the product 4. Ideo - Pleasure (Sight) People's values ex) concerned environmental issues / Green design things,Tomes shoes and Benetton Uviversal Metionds of Design book Example of products (4 Pleasure)
  • 56. 25.02.2015 04.03.2015 11.03.2015 About thesis project b. Kakao talka. Nate On Semina with James Powderly (product manager of Samsung) He talked about Human Interaction and he tried to show his project what he has been doing for a long time it was great time to see different works about user experience design. Brand experience design. Experiential : How should the buyer feel when he or she purchases the product or service ? How should this be communicated in the design ? Functional : What benefit does this brand provide to the buyer ? How can this be communicat ed in the design ? And should this be done directly or implicitly ? Emotional : How would we like the customer to feel about owning this brand ? And how will he or she actually feel, given our chosen design strategy ? Rational : Alternatively, will this brand appeal to the logical side of our buyer ? Is this what we want? And how can this be communicated in the design ? Cultural : is there a culture of buying this brand ? Among whom? Why? Does the brand reflect this? Or does the culture of buying it reflect the brand? Visual : What should this brand look like? And why? Elements here include color, typography, logo, and packaging. How will these appeal to the target market? I studied about some brands which is really good case of branding. NATE ON started to make better messenger than MSN and to make a suitable messenger to Korean. NATE ON was connected to Cyworld so it was easy to find friend and also can use cyber money called " Dotori " that is used in cyworld. could be used in nate on. It is used in companies a lot to communicate with co-workers.It is possible to use Cyworld Nate on and Nate with onsingle ID. When lots of communication media such as naver blog and Facebook people started not to use cyworld anymore. Nate on was not good for using on the mobiles and because people cannot communicate when people were offline. it was difficult to communicate when they are away from the computer. So people wanted to use an application that can be communicate in any condition and more than just communicating service withe free charge. with kakao talk people can use games, emoticon, payment, gift service, online shop and so on.Kakao talk was able to used from outside of Korea and can access in laptop and computers. They kept updating the service adding more service that makes the users more satisfy Now the Kakao talk is the main messenger service in Korea now. from this work, I though that UX designer should keep the study about people’s needs and trends to bette communication with people. In this research, I found problems (needs) in details. Bringing the service elements into the physical dimension allowed me to understand the overall scenario more easily. Question Development Process Interest : Research title / project Aims Why ? Clear motivation through research background How can I ? Clear research question should include Target User + Needs Wants + Business Insights Amusement park sets were created to configure the space in the park expressing interactions occurred when people confronted each other or between objects in the paper-made models that were well fitted to particular situations, circumstances and people. All the people in the interest in children service in the amusement park were reminded through brainstor ming process dividing them to children, parents, and workers at the amusement park to create a map. Then, the hierarchical relationship, roles, and backgrounds were distributed in order understanding the issues and recognizing the relationship between major characters. I have understood all the situations prior to conducting a survey. Chose to research about enjoyment of children. Q :What would make it possible for children to create joyous memory in the amusement park ?

A Location-based Mobile Reservation Application Design to Reduce WaitingTime-related Complaint Elements Regarding Amusement Park Rides 3. A Study of the Analysis for Visual Design Elements ofTheme Park They studied Amusement Parks which are very important places for leisure in modern society. They tried to understand consumers needs and develop the service. But in Korea, there are no studies for childrens experience at amusement parks. I think this would be a good chance to try and clarify what alot of people haven’t researched in to. 22.03.2015 2-term Proposal 30.03.2015 Small Group Interview In order to listen to opinion from parents coming to the amusement park with children aged from 3 to 12 as a main target of the project, I have conducted 1:1 interview with 3 participants. By revealing the potential defects that might have been experienced by them in the amusement park, it was intended to avoid the extreme situations and utilize data needed for the follow-up survey. 13.04.2015 Observation I have visited an amusement park and i did obsevation using 3 different methods Shawdoing / Interview / Behavioral mapping Continuing to look up exisiting documents and found related articles 13.04.2015 Trying to gather as much of relative data as possible which will be helpful when i suggest new service Finished case studies (positive case) : providing many of the services for communication with children as a main target of the business and creating their brand identity with their own stories 01.04.2015 Questionnaire I made Questionnaire and i started survey through ‘Survey monkey’ website also i made format for diary study 11.04.2015 Diary study Research Question What would make it possible for children to create joyous memory in the amusement park ? • 59. PDP 15.04.2015 - 20.04.2015 I contucted and analysis of whole research date based on children and their parents needs After that, i made new service for children at amusement park Finished usability testing and analyzed effets of the new service using 4pleasure and 3steps of experience I found limitation of the research There might be a geographical limitation since a survey was conducted only on amusement parks locat ed in Seoul.and since there was a limitation in identifying opinion of children, it was replaced by the one from parents. It was difficult to identify the needs of children that communication is not made seamlessly. Also it was difficult for the results of study from an interview and survey conducted on 50 subjects to represent the opinion of the entire visitors. 24.04.2015 After the 1st presentation (Peer review) i decided to make storyboard and conlusion of research pages whichare make people can easy to und erstand process of the project. I learned that UX designers play an important role for people who don't know what they want, or people who are aware of their needs, but had no chance to express them. Also another thing I realized that unders tanding deeper needs of peoples by observation, specifying them through surveys, and triggering people’s motivations are also specifications that designer should comply with, and UX designis not a single desig ning stage but a whole process. I believe that such experience is a valuable asset, and will be very helpful when proceeding with other projects in the future.
