Tegel Airport
Tegel Airport is located on the northwest side of Berlin and is used by
larger airlines including Lufthansa, British Airways, Continental, and Delta.
It’s not a major hub like Frankfurt, Paris, and London, so it’s much smaller
and more manageable.
To get from the airport into the center of town, it will cost you around €20 to
take a taxi, or you can take one of the accessible (ramped) bus lines for around
€2 per person.
The TXL bus line will get you to the former East Berlin, stopping at Unter den
Linden and Alexanderplatz, in about 30 minutes. The X9 bus line will get you
to the Zoo Station in the former West Berlin in about 20 minutes. There is no
train or subway station at Tegel Airport.

Schönefeld Airport
Schönefeld is located southeast of town and is used by budget airlines such
as EasyJet and Ryannair.
The best option is to take a taxi because the Schönefeld train station is
about a 10 minute walk away from the airport. The train leaves every 30
minutes and takes 20 minutes to reach Alexanderplatz or 30 minutes to
reach Zoo Station.

Getting To Berlin by Train
Accessible travel to Berlin is also possible by taking a train to the Berlin
Hauptbaunhof or one of the other train stations. Most trains arrive at the
Berlin Hauptbahnhof train station which is located north of the Tiergarten
park and Spree River.

The best areas for hotels are not near the train station so will need to get
transportation to your hotel. There is a taxi stand outside the train station,
or you can use the U-bahn (subway) and/or S-bahn (above ground train) to
get to your hotel. See the page on Accessible Berlin Transportation for
more information.
