The aim is to reduce infant mortality and control infectious diseases. Common pediatric diseases include tonsillitis, chickenpox, diphtheria, measles, mumps, head lice, scabies, and impetigo. Symptoms of infectious diseases include fever, rashes, cough, and diarrhea. Emergency signs require immediate care and include respiratory distress, shock, coma, and severe dehydration.

diarrhoea (lethargy, sunken eyes, very slow
return after pinching the skin or any two of
these).

The health of children is a product of complex, dynamic
processes produced by the interaction of external influences,
such as social and physical environment and their genes and
behaviors. Because children are rapidly changing and
development in response to these interaction.

• Provide a surveillance and early warning capacity
for the detection of significant changes in health.
