5. Executive Summary
We gladly present you our assignment titled “Study on students’ socio-economic
background”. Our report also refers as a research paper related university. We have made
the report on the university as you had given us to analyse by help of your suggestions.
This report implies the personal information of the students of SEU and analyse with
statistical measurement (Mean, Median, Mode, Standard Deviation) and the students’
socio economic situation.
We believe that the knowledge and experience we gathered during the report will
extremely helpful in our future professional and academic life. We will be grateful to you
if you accept the assignment.
We assign the report to know the current background of socio-economic situation of the
students of Southeast University. This report helps us to get new experience for preparing
a report. We can get a result so that we can analyze and solve many problems.
As we are a student of Southeast University, we also filled survey form on students’
social and economic background. This report also helps us to get statistical analysis and
results about students’ present situation of Southeast University.
For this, we have made a survey from which includes students’ age, gender, CGPA, SSC
GPA, HSC GPA, Father’s education, mother’s education, yearly salary range, family
members, career etc. We hope this form will help us to collect accurate information from
them. We have decided to collect data from 15 students. And then we will analyze the
data with statistical formula by using IBM SPSS Statistics Application. SPSS Statistics
Application is a software package used for statistical analysis.
We hope that this report also helps us as a further useful information.
6. Objectives of the Study
The main objective of the report is to find out the present economic and socio
background of the students of Southeast University. It is very important to set an
objective for preparing our report.
So at first we have to collect data from various resources. We have tried to collect
accurate data and analyse it so that we can achieve our objective. The study finds out the
way haw can the students be motivated. So we have surveyed 20 students on their
opinion, expectation about the university. Some students are satisfied and some are
dissatisfied. Those who are dissatisfied, we have to find the answer how they can be
motivated. And so the answer can be our main objective of our report.
7. Methodology
Methodology is the systematic, theoretical analysis of the methods applied to a field of
study. It comprises the theoretical analysis of the body of methods and principles
associated with a branch of knowledge. Typically, it encompasses concepts such as
paradigm, theoretical model, phases and quantitative or qualitative techniques.
A methodology does not set out to provide solutions - it is, therefore, not the same as a
method. Instead, a methodology offers the theoretical underpinning for understanding
which method, set of methods, or so-called “best practices” can be applied to specific
case, for example, to calculate a specific result.
Sources of Data:- We collected data to prepare our repot from 2 types of data:-
(1) Primary Data:- Primary data are measurement observed and recorded as part of
an original study. There are two basic methods of obtaining primary data-
Questioning and Observation. We have collected data from the students of
SEU as the primary data by questioning. Questioning is distinguished by the
fact that data are collected by asking questions from people who are thought to
have the desired information. So we have given a survey form for each student
to be filled up. This form has been included their personal information related
to our university.
(2) Secondary Data:- Secondary data is data collected by someone other than the
user. We have collected as a secondary data from SEU website, Wikipedia and
other useful websites.
8. Findings and Analysis
We already have said that we surveyed 15 students by filling survey from. We have
found that 7 male students and 8 female students have been surveyed by our group. And
so we have focused a pie diagram which is based on the total number of male and female
students we surveyed. The pie diagram is given below-

We have focused a table on the percentages of different semesters’ students we had
surveyed. The majority of students we surveyed had in 4th
semester (73.33%).
Now, we have displayed a bar charts on the variation of students from different ages -
We have seen that the majority of the students we surveyed had 20 years old.
We have collected The CPGPA of the students. The values of mean, median, mode and
standard deviation on their CGPA results are given below-

As we had surveyed on students, it had been seen that 100% students of our university
we had surveyed are not employed.
Both bar charts have shown ours that, Majority of the students had passed their
school and college life in Urban Environment.
In statistical analysis mean, median and mode is very important for survival. The average
of the GPA of SSC and HSC result of the students are given below-

*Most of the students have 5 family members.
Above two pie diagrams, we have shown fathers and mothers education of the students.
(1) The majority of the educational qualification of the mothers of the students
are Secondary (40%)

Now we have focused a pie diagram on the basis of educational financial of the

15. Recommendation
Recommendation is a suggestion or proposal as to the best course of action, especially
one put forward by an authoritative body. For the economic and social development of
the students of our university, our opinion we are recommending these:-
1. As most of the students had greatly passed their education in urban life, we have
seen that their families’ economic condition is almost good. So the students who
come from urban environment can get a great advantage for continuing their study
because of their financial priority.
2. Most of the students depends on their families’ income. And almost all the student
have not employed anywhere. So it is better to have at least a part time job in order
to get sufficient advantage on education life and financial condition.
3. The CGPA of most of the students are not so good. But they hold their future
career as a banker. We know that bank job is not so easy to get. So the CGPA of
the students should be improved.
4. For preparing good report, analysis section should be enlarged, enhanced, data
should be correct, accurate as much as possible.
16. Conclusion
We have already solved the report regarding analysis and research in Southeast
University students. As a result we can try to analyse and recommend the socio economic
situation of the students.
It is a great advantage for us that as we are in ongoing process to be a business graduate
we will have to face some difficulties regarding this report in our professional life. So we
must have to know the knowledge of management in business to regard running a
business and also many aspects of business. This report will help us to meet up the
problems that we may face in future.
So we can said that this report will help ours for getting experiences and may be a useful
statistical research document.
