5. During the years after WWII, PEJA
sells furniture, beds, domestic app-
liances, household goods and everything that can be sold with a margin.
By the end of the 40s, this business declines and PEJA starts looking for
new business areas. Antonius Bienemann joins PEJA in 1947.

Without much success. Until:
The coincidental meeting between Antonius
Bienemann and a Russian officer leads to the first

West until the end of the 80s, when Glasnost & Perestroika
changed the world.
PEJA attended every exhibition from 1948 until 1989. From
1954 onwards, PEJA even has its own building on the premises!
10. Since 1978, Peja Producten and many of its daughter companies are based in the
Arnhem head offices.
On the 27,000 sqm premises, the HQ offices, workshop and main European
warehouse are located. Closeby are the river Rhine and the famous John Frost
Bridge (from the film ‘A Bridge Too Far’, 1974).
