2. Cross Country
The Varsity Cross Country team is doing very well this running season. Lloyd
Stambaugh is average ranked 2nd in groups of over 100 boys (what a tank)!
They plan to keep improving and eventually be the best team out there, and
with hard work they can do it.
3. Volleyball
The Volleyball team is improving very well. On the tri hosted on October 7th,
at MHS, they took a harsh loss to Webberville, but immediately retaliated by
pulling together and defeating Ovid Elsie. Nice work girls!
These girls started with a rough season, but they plan to recover now and win
districts, and possibly go all the way.
4. Football
Morrice Football season has been doing pretty good, with a 3-3 season this
year to date. On October 10th, they will be playing the Dryden Cardinals in
the Morrice annual homecoming game. It has been many years since the
Orioles have won a homecoming, but plan to overcome Dryden under the
lights in 2014.
After defeating Kinde North Huron, 44-8, the Orioles are excited to play
Dryden to see if they can win-out at 4-0 for the ending half of their regular
season.
5. Basketball
Morrice High School Basketball season will be blasting off soon, which means
student section excitement and stats in the paper, be ready to cheer on your
favorite team in the home town, or on the road!
6. Weightlifting
The Weightroom is open to students and teachers after school, so don’t be
afraid to get in there!
When fall sports end, and winter is here, morning lifts and evening lifts will
be available to anyone willing to show up.
7. Spring/Winter Sports to Look Forward To
There will be a couple of new sports teams for the Orioles this year, so be
ready to support and shout out to those teams! We need all the players we
can get, being a small school, so make sure you’re paying attention to sign-up
dates and other things!
The next few slides will give details about just what sports we’re talking
about.
8. Powerlifting
If we can get enough people, Morrice would like to start a powerlifting team,
so that our more competitive lifters can see just how strong they really are.
This will be a winter sport, and would go into early spring. If we can get a
team, we will be more then ready to take on any school’s strongest lifters.
9. Track and Field
The morrice track team will be starting practices early into 2015, so get
running and get in shape if you’re a runner!
The Morrice Field of Dreams has added a dirt/gravel track around the football
field, which we will have for this entire track season. We are glad to have this
to help us practice on, and shotput and discus pits will be finished in time to
get some throws in on.
10. Golf
Tiger Woods is jealous of this team, that’s right. Morrice will be trying to get
a golf team going this year, as in the past we have had a co-team with
Webberville, we will be attempting to provide our own team this year.
We need as many golfers as you know, so lets get a big team so we can make
this a reality!
11. Baseball
The Morrice Baseball team is ready to get going this spring, and will be glad to
receive your support, so make sure you get out to some of the games!
Numbers are always an issue, so make sure if you want to play, you play! We
need as many as we can get on every team, so don’t be shy to participate and
become a winner!
