Clearly, email is a place you need to be. And with such a high conversion rate, there’s nothing holding you back from becoming a successful email marketer. You’ll see all the features designed to help you get great results without spending a ton of time on your marketing.
  6. Now I’ll log into a live Constant Contact account and show you exactly how easy it can be to create beautiful customized templates that help you achieve your many goals. DEMO: Start at www.constantcontact.com home page Click “log in” & point out forgot username/password links Point out navigation tabs (mention what you can find on each tab) Click to “create” and choose “email” Choose template All templates are mobile optimized (single column, optimized for images and font sizes, pre-header text) Change email name Hover over current blocks to show block icons (move, copy, delete) Build palette Drag and drop icons to add new content (add at least a button) Mention pink bar for placement Drag and drop a layout (use 2 column layout) Show stacking Drop content on top (vertical stack) Drop content next to (horizontal stack) Edit text/in-line editing and real time formatting Type headline Type or copy/paste body text Highlight body text to format (font style & size, bold, italic) Create clickable text link Image Palette Point out link to upload images Drag and drop a logo at the top of the template Click the image corners to resize Click image to: Make image clickable (copy/paste URL) Add image description Drag and drop an image next to the body text Resize if necessary Make image clickable Click to edit button icon Click and drag corners to resize Change background color and increase font size to stand out The call to action should always be the focal point of the message *Best Practice: 1-2 calls to action per email to increase clicks Make button clickable (copy/paste URL) Colors Palette Change background and font colors - use a color picker (for example Color Cop) to show customization of colors to match the brand *Best Practice: 2-3 colors per email, not including black and white *Best Practice: 1-2 font styles per email, 11-16pt body font size to optimize for mobile Edit social media profile buttons Check/uncheck (choose to display) social media buttons Add a new social media button from the drop down Copy and paste social media profile URL Use 4-way arrow to reorder the social media buttons Use the trash can to delete unneeded social media buttons Edit pre-header text at the top ASK: does anyone know what pre-header text is? (Explain, 1-2 sentences that appear in your reader’s inbox before they open your message) Save the email If someone doesn’t have NGE and asks about it, here’s a standard response: “Great question! Constant Contact is in the process of introducing a “next generation” editing experience like you just saw. If you’ve been with Constant Contact for a while, you may still have the previous editor in your account, which will look slightly different. The features are very similar. But you may have noticed the ease of use in our newest editor, like the smooth drag and drop experience and real-time formatting. We’re more than happy to switch you over sooner rather than later. Just email us at support@constantcontact.com or give us a call.” Go to the “contacts” tab Point out general navigation of contacts tab (lists on the left, contacts on the right) Click to “add contacts” Point out various ways to upload contacts (ask the audience where they keep their addresses, point out appropriate integrations like Outlook to make uploading easier) Upload contact file and label data Create new custom field Point out check box for permission (required based on Terms & Conditions) Create a new contact list Upload Go to sign-up tools page, from the “actions” menu: Preview the sign-up form (fully customizable with colors and logo) Point out options to promote the form (copy/paste URL onto your website, create sign up buttons, embed the form on your website, Facebook app, Text-to-Join) Go to the “campaigns” tab to schedule your email Click the “actions” menu for the created email Click “schedule” Choose your new contact list Write subject line Write from name Choose send later Wondering best time to send to get high reports?
