2. Active And Passive Electronics
Components
•There are two classes of electronic components – Active and
Passive.
• Both these electronic components are different from each other.
Electronic
Components
Active Components:
Transistor, I.C Logic
Circuits etc.
Passive Components:
Resistor, Inductor,
Capacitor, Diode.
3. Active And Passive Electronics
Components
What are Passive Electronic Components?
•Passive electronic components are those that don’t have the
ability to control current by means of another electrical signal.
• Examples of passive electronic components are capacitors,
resistors, inductors, transformers, and diodes.
What are Active Electronic Components?
•Active electronic components are those that can control the
flow of electricity
•Some examples of active electronic components
are Transistor, I.C Logic Circuits etc.
4. Some well Known Electronic
Components Electronics
•Resistor: A resistor is an electrical device that resists the
flow of electrical current. It is a passive device.
•Capacitor: A capacitor is a passive electrical component
that can store energy in the form of electric field.
•Inductor: An inductor is a passive electronic component
that stores energy in the form of a magnetic field.
7. You Must Know About:
• Current, Voltage, Charge and other physical
quantities and there units.
• You must go through semiconductors
devices from day one as it will be of utmost
importance throughout this course.
• Come prepared for quiz in each lecture,
mostly will be unannouced.
