No Fireworks on board NCBC – Residents of Naval Construction Battalion Center (NCBC) Gulfport are reminded that fireworks
of any kind are not permitted on the Center. A listing of area 4th

Healthy Lifestyle Festival – This summer DeCA is once again hosting its “Your Healthy Lifestyle Festival” July 2 – 3, to
encourage everyone to shop healthy, eat healthy and be healthy! Last year’s festival was the first of what has become an
annual event combining the best of the military community’s efforts to help improve the health and wellness of service members
and their families. The NCBC Gulfport Commissary will feature their ever-popular, farmers market; Morale, Welfare and
Recreation services will offer a variety of fitness events for children and adults; and the Navy Exchange will offer popular
sidewalk sales featuring fitness shoes and apparel specials along with sports equipment and bicycles.
Independence Day Meal - Colmer Dining Facility will host an Independence Day Meal July 8, 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m., for $5.55.
The menu will feature Watermelon Gazpacho Soup, Grilled Hamburgers, Grilled Hot Dogs, BBQ Chicken, Corn on the Cob,
Southern Style Green Beans, Baked Beans, Potato Salad, Cole Slaw, Assorted Chips and Assorted Desserts. The meal is open
to everyone with authorized access to NCBC Gulfport.
Commissary Deli Back in Business - The NCBC Commissary has resumed full deli service. A variety of meats and cheeses are
available for purchase, as well as sandwiches and salads. Customers should be aware that deli hours vary slightly from other
commissary services. Deli services are available Tuesday - Saturday, 10 a.m. - 6 p.m., and Sundays 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Commissary
hours of operation: Sunday: 11 a.m. - 6 p.m., Monday: Closed, Tuesday: 9 a.m. - 7 p.m., Wednesday: 9 a.m. - 6 p.m., Thursday: 9
a.m. - 7 p.m., Friday/Saturday: 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. (Closed July 4 for Independence Day). Sushi services are expected to
return July 10.
Gulf Coast USO activities in July – The Gulf Coast USO has planned the following events for Active Duty, Guard, Reserve
members and their families: ~ Poker Night, July 2, 6:30 p.m., USO Gulf Coast inside the Gulfport/Biloxi International Airport ~ Yoga
on the Beach, July 10, 7 a.m., on the beach next to Jones Park. This is a family friendly event and children are invited to attend. ~
Family BINGO Night, July 16, 6:30 p.m., USO Gulf Coast inside the Gulfport Biloxi International Airport ~ Family Game Night, July
23, 6:30 p.m., at the USO Gulf Coast inside the Gulfport Biloxi International Airport ~ Children 5 and Under Play Date at Jones Park,
July 29, 10 a.m. RSVP by emailing usogulfcoast@uso.org. Snacks and beverages will be provided at all events.
Food Drive - A Food Drive is underway through Aug. 28. Children and families are in great need of donated food this summer.
Federal employees and members of the uniformed services will join together to collect food nationwide for local food banks. Food
donated on board NCBC will be distributed to local food banks. Drop off locations on board NCBC are: NCBC Commissary, Seabee
Memorial Chapel, Navy Exchange, Fleet and Family Support Center, Command Quarterdecks, Navy Housing, and Liberty Center.

Baby Boot Camp – The Fleet and Family Support Center (FFSC) is sponsoring Baby Boot Camp, July 16, 8 a.m. - noon (for those
expecting and families with new babies up to 3 months old). Preregistration is requested for all classes. Register by calling 228-
871-3000.
Keep What You’ve Earned - Be responsible this weekend. If you’re going to drink, don’t let yourself get out of control. You could
lose a significant chunk of your paycheck after just one Alcohol Related Incident. That’s not to mention civilian fines. A typical DUI
costs about $10,000 by the time you pay bail, fines, fees and insurance, even if you didn’t hit anything or hurt anybody. Keep your
money in your pocket. Represent the Navy well by making responsible drinking choices this 4th
of July.

Annual Seabee Volkslauf Mud Run 2015 – The annual Mud Run will take place Sept. 19 at 7 a.m., and the Family Fun Run will

Free Troops to Teachers Seminars - The Southeast Region Troops to Teachers program has scheduled a series of free seminars

Note from NCBC School Liaison Officer regarding Alternate School Districts - Parents, if you live on base and want to take
advantage of the law that allows your children to go to an adjacent school district you do not need a district transfer. The key is
“live on base.” If you live off base you will need a district office transfer form signed by the superintendent. Point of contact for

New to military family housing? Did you know that OPNAVINST 11320.23G requires housing residents to attend a Fire Safety
brief within 30 days of moving into base housing? Briefs, which last no more than an hour, are held in the Seabee Memorial Chapel
on the first and third Wednesday of the month at 3:30 p.m. If you have not attended a brief yet, plan to do so. If you are
unable to attend, call the Fire Chief, 228-871-3117 to discuss your situation.

Last year’s festival was the first of what has become an annual event combining the best of the military community’s efforts to help improve the health and wellness of service members and their families. The NCBC Gulfport Commissary will feature their ever-popular, farmers market; Morale, Welfare and Recreation services will offer a variety of fitness events for children and adults; and the Navy Exchange will offer popular sidewalk sales featuring fitness shoes and apparel specials along with sports equipment and bicycles. Independence Day Meal - Colmer Dining Facility will host an Independence Day Meal July 8, 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m., for $5.55. The menu will feature Watermelon Gazpacho Soup, Grilled Hamburgers, Grilled Hot Dogs, BBQ Chicken, Corn on the Cob, Southern Style Green Beans, Baked Beans, Potato Salad, Cole Slaw, Assorted Chips and Assorted Desserts. The meal is open to everyone with authorized access to NCBC Gulfport. Commissary Deli Back in Business - The NCBC Commissary has resumed full deli service. A variety of meats and cheeses are available for purchase, as well as sandwiches and salads. Customers should be aware that deli hours vary slightly from other commissary services. Deli services are available Tuesday - Saturday, 10 a.m. - 6 p.m., and Sundays 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Commissary hours of operation: Sunday: 11 a.m. - 6 p.m., Monday: Closed, Tuesday: 9 a.m. - 7 p.m., Wednesday: 9 a.m. - 6 p.m., Thursday: 9 a.m. - 7 p.m., Friday/Saturday: 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. (Closed July 4 for Independence Day).
