This document discusses the benefits of single-use biopsy valves and irrigation accessories over reusable options. It notes that reusable biopsy valves are nearly impossible to clean fully and may harbor dangerous pathogens, putting patients and healthcare workers at risk. Single-use biopsy valves and irrigation accessories from BioShield reduce this risk of cross-contamination between patients and allow for efficient irrigation during endoscopy procedures. Studies have found debris and contamination in reusable biopsy valves that cleaning brushes cannot fully remove.
Anti microbial effects of silver is well known concept
Silverware has been used without any concern
Well established use in wound dressing and eyedrops
This finishing procedure is carried out by the encapsulation of the silver compounds i.e. the nano particles of silver are encapsulated in the fiber reactive polymer.
Silver nano-particle resistance unlikely because the interaction is determined by the physiochemical properties of the tiny particles.
Nano silver has tested excellent as antibacterial, antiviral, antimicrobial agents.
Their small size increases the oxidative stress in the cells by generating reactive oxygen species or attacking the fatty acids in the cell membranes resulting in increased lipid peroxidation.
Silver nanoparticles once inside the bacterial cells, destabilizes the intracellular structures and bio molecules, consequently inducing death.
This presentation Based on Non Destructive Testing.the Abbreviation is NDT.Dye penetrant Testing (DPT) is the part of NDT .I think my presentation will be helpful for NDT Related person

Root Canal Irrigants or Endodontic irrigants surabhisoumya1
This presentation is all about the various irrigants and the irrigation systems used currently in dental practice ( in cleaning and shaping of Root canal systems)
Dye penetrant inspection, also called liquid penetrate inspection or penetrant testing, is a widely applied and low-cost inspection method used to check surface-breaking defects in all non-porous materials.
Liquid penetrant inspection is one of the oldest and most widely used non destructive testing methods. It is also called as dye penetrant inspection.Penetrant testing can be applied to most of materials including metallic and non metallic objects. This Presentation will gives you an overview about Liquid Penetrant Testing and Various methods used for Inspection
This presentation is intended to provide an introduction to the NDT method of penetrant testing. Penetrant Testing (PT) is a non destructive testing method that builds on the principle of Visual Inspection.
This presentation of mine is a brief overview of root canal dressing materials and medicaments for undergraduate and postgraduate students . It also includes active irrigation techniques and their uses etc

2. BioShield® biopsy valves and irrigation accessories are
single-use, offering unsurpassed protection for patients and staff.
Why single-use valves?
It is nearly impossible to manually clean, disinfect, flush and dry biopsy valves. Reused
biopsy valves can become leaky and potentially harbor dangerous pathogens - putting
both patients and healthcare workers at risk. Fortunately, BioShield® biopsy valves are
single-use, leaving you one less thing to worry about.
Why take the risk?
Trust BioShield® biopsy valves.
4. Did you know?
Findings suggest biopsy valves aren’t designed to be cleaned and reprocessed…

what the experts are saying
“...cleaning brush bristles must come in contact with all surfaces of the
1
endoscope channel, parts, connectors and orifices before reuse is safe.”
“Air pockets in the biopsy-port caps that prevented effective contact between disinfectants
and the microorganisms when submerged during cleaning were pinpointed as the culprits of
the spreading bacteria. Also, the design of the caps prevented thorough cleaning and drying of
surfaces inside the caps, thus providing an environment where the bacteria could survive the
usual disinfection procedures, according to doctors.” 2
“Rubber biopsy port caps must be discarded after all procedures involving the
passage of biopsy forceps, guidewires and/or other accessories through the
endoscope.” 3
“...healthcare-related infections from endoscopy continue to occur, in part, because
endoscopes are difficult to clean due to their complex nature, which includes “springs
and valves” as parts of the endoscope that complicate adequate disinfection.” 4
5. In a documented study,* published in EndoNurse and Infection Control Today,
researchers found visible debris/proteinaceous material in over 50% of the
test valves. The reprocessed valves used in the study, supplied from three major U.S.
institutions, were deemed “clean and ready to use” prior to microscopic evaluation.
The results showed wear and damage to valve structure, gross contamination
on the outer edges, and contamination within the nooks and crannies of the valves -
where cleaning brushes can’t always reach. (Figure 1.2-1.4 taken from David M. Parente, BS, BA, MBA, “Could Biopsy Port Valves be a
Source for Potential Flexible Endoscope Contamination,” Infection Control Today, Volume 11, No. 6, (June 2007).
