Leadership responsibility for the Children’s Art Project (CAP). The Children’s Art Project (CAP) has
provided $32million in 41 years to support programs that meet the educational, emotional and
recreational needs of MD Anderson patients. CAP brings world-wide admiration to MD Anderson Cancer
Center and builds awareness for issues related to cancer and children. CAP makes more than 250 million
consumer impressions per year. Key areas of responsibility: Planning and overseeing strategic and
tactical planning, Directing CAP operations to achieve targeted profitability margins, Optimizing human
resources (25.5 staff plus temporary workers and volunteers), Planning, directing and overseeing the
fiscal affairs of CAP programs and Maintaining and enhancing community and corporate partnerships.
Interim Director 8/99-10/99
Interim leadership responsibility for the Children’s Art Project. Revenue for fiscal year 1999 was $5.8
million. Management responsibilities include all functions, programs, resources and operations of the
project as well as representation at events in the community, with donors, partners and others.
Program Director 4/97-7/99
Responsible for overseeing a $5.4 million project that takes artwork from pediatric art classes, develops
products and markets those products. All proceeds fund patient-focused programs at MD Anderson
Cancer Center. Record proceeds awarded last year of $1.2 million. Fiscal year ended 8/98 with net
profits of $2.4 million or 266% of any previous year. Management responsibilities include 23 employees
and thousands of volunteers. Responsible for all functions of the project including: Planning-Strategic
and Tactical, Finance, Operations, Marketing, Production, Special Events, Communications, Purchasing,
Licensing, Donations, Telemarketing, Internet/eCommerce site and Public Relations. Manages the three
revenue generating centers of the project-Retail, Direct Mail and the Internet.
2. COCA COLA FOODS/The Minute Maid Company, Houston, TX
Channel Manager (Foodservice Group) 12/95-3/97
Responsible for strategic and tactical planning and analysis for the Contract Segment for Foodservice.
Manage promotional planning/development, new product development for key segments of business
including College/University, Business & Industry and Healthcare. Responsible for Go-to-Market
Strategies for the Contract segment utilizing the Minute Maid Advantage. Formulate recommendations
for Basic Beverage Marketing (Flavor set, Product mix, Cup set, Pricing, etc..) based on research and
analysis for specific segments and accounts. Responsible for marketing plans for the top 3 National
Accounts (including Aramark and Marriott) and the NACUFS (Nat. Assoc. of College and University
Foodservice) organization. Work in conjunction with outside Advertising and Promotions Agencies as
well as Coca Cola USA counterparts.
Product Manager (Foodservice Group) 11/91-11/95
Managed the Ready to Serve Juice and Juice Drink, Dairy nutritional supplement and Frogurt product
lines ($65 million in annual revenue). Responsible for project management of major crossfunctional
initiatives (P&L responsibility). Manage brand strategies, pricing, promotion plans, cost of goods,
packaging, production forecasting, collateral material development, etc. Work in conjunction with
outside advertising and promotions agencies. Developed the product that eventually became the
“Simply Juice” line.
Achievements
• Appointed Task Force member for the Dairy Initiative (key business system)
• Initiated and managed the chilled single serve product line for Foodservice and the Division.
• Nominated as Foodservice representative to the PMQC Project Team. Presented Project
Management recommendation to President and Senior Management.
• Developed Retention promotion for NACUFS that was considered the most successful
manufacturers’ promotion of the year by College and University operators.
• Introduced Hi-C Brand to the Portion Control line.
• Reformulated Shake Ups Plus Products.
• Developed marketing plans including DMP program, Hi-C Operator Coupon, Event Marketing, Test
Market for Chilled Single Serve including collateral materials, etc.
Associate Product Manager (Foodservice Group) 2/90-11/91
Managed the Portion Control (PC) product line ($45million annual revenue). Responsible for project
management, product development and financial management, strategic and tactical planning and
analysis.
Achievements:
• Developed and introduced the Minute Maid brand to the PC line.
• Initiated Club Store pack for PC products (first cross-divisional project.)
• Developed packaging to comply with governmental regulations.
• Analyzed feasibility of decentralizing and expanding PC production.
• Developed and introduced a Brazilian/Florida blend to compete in the PC orange juice business.

District Sales Manager (Broker)
Managed and implemented sales plans for six broker markets (No.California, Northwestern USA, Hawaii
and Alaska), planned and executed Regional marketing programs.

• Achieved “Superbowl” quota 1989 avg. 110-119% of quarterly objectives.
• Developed/presented focused training to improve overall broker effectiveness.
• Authority included hiring and firing when necessary.

Managed four Territory Sales managers and one student intern. Developed internship program used as a
pilot for the country. Managed and implemented sales plans for 13 frozen, six refrigerated and one
novelty brand(s). Responsible for Fleming Foods and Alpha Beta (personal accounts).
Achievements:
• Achieved 103% of quota,1986-first time District was over 100% in five years.
• Instructed National Territory Managers Seminar-chosen as corporate seminar leader.
