Did you
know?
What does it mean to be
CURED from Hepatitis
C?
Cure means the Hep C
virus is not detected in the
blood 3 months after
treatment is completed.
The medical term used is
that the patient received a
Sustained Virologic
Response or SVR for
short!
New
Developments

Sexual
Transmission in
HCV
A study done by Dr.
Norah A. Terrault
explores the Sexual
transmission of
hepatitis C virus
among monogamous
heterosexual couples
was part of the HCV
partners study
concluded that the
risk of sexual
transmission among
monogamous
heterosexual couples
was very rare (0.6%).
This is good news for
couples in long term
relationships in which
one of the partners is
living with HCV.
