2. ARRIVAL

3. EGYPTIAN MUSEUM
A visit to the Egyptian Museum is an absolute must on a visit to Cairo. Your guide will take you
through the history of Pharaonic Egypt with the help of the artifacts exhibited, from Narmer to
Akhnaton and Ramses. Of course, the galleries with the treasures of Tutankhamon will be carefully
explained.
4. GIZA PYRAMIDS
The most famous sight in Egypt, the Pyramids at the Giza Plateau, dating back to 2500 B.C. One of
the seven classic wonders of the world, they are the oldest. The visit will take us to the highest
point of the plateau to have a panoramic view of the area, to one of the three pyramids (Cheops,
Kephren or Mycerinos), as well as the valley temple of Kephren and the mysterious Sphinx.

Papyrus was very important to the ancient Egyptians as it helped transform Egyptian society in

Institute in 1968 in attempt to re-establish this ancient technique and to show the puplic how it
was done.

7. KARNAK TEMPLE COMPLEX
The Karnak Temple Complex is home to three main temples, several smaller enclosed temples, and
a number of outer temples – combining the achievements of many generations of ancient builders

8. VALLEY OF THE KINGS
Situated on the ancient site of Thebes, on Luxor’s West Bank, the Valley of Kings is the ancient

We will come across the two gigantic statues known as the Colossi of Memnon. Each colossus is
about 21 meters tall and represents King Amenhotep III seated on his throne. Legend has it that
after an earthquake damaged it in 27 BC, one of the statues emitted strange sounds in the
morning-perhaps due to the heat of the sun following the humidity of the night.
11. EDFU
In the afternoon we will take a cruise to Edfu passing through Esna lock, it is a monument that
contains evidence of more Egyptian history and is of more archaeological interest than the
Ptolemaic temple. Although major parts of the settlement show severe signs of erosion, cut away
or have been exposed during sebakh-digging, enough is preserved to gain information from as far
back as the predynastic period.

Every pharaoh was an incarnation of Horus, who according to legend conquered Seth their evil god
of Upper Egypt. Seth was their god of turmoil and confusion who murdered Osiris, Horus's father.
Horus avenged his father's death and became their god of order and justice. Therefore the
pharaoh in ancient Egypt became Horus on earth, the ruler of the two lands.
Horus, represented by the hawk, was the god of the Sky, a symbol of divine Kingship,
and protector of the ruling King.
13. SAIL TO KOM OMBO
We will sail to Kom Ombo over night, The word "Kom" in Arabic means the small hill and the word
"Ombo", in the Hieroglyphic ancient Egyptian language means the gold.
Although Kom Ombo is famous today due to the Temple that was constructed during the Greco
Roman era, the area was inhabited since the pre dynastic period of the Egyptian history and many
ancient burial sites were discovered in and around Kom Ombo.
14. KOM OMBO TEMPLE
In the morning a Kom Ombo temple visit, The building is unique because its 'double' design meant
that there were courts, halls, sanctuaries and rooms duplicated for two sets of kings.
The scene on the inner face of the rear wall of the temple is of particular interest, and "probably
represents a set of surgical instruments.
15. ASWAN FELUCCA TOUR
Continue to Aswan, arrival at noon. In the afternoon, a felucca ride to enjoy the beautiful
