This document summarizes a seminar presentation on social media and the young generation in Bangladesh.  The first social media ‘Six Degrees’ that was launched in 1997
 LinkedIn was founded in 2002 as professionals platform
 In 2004, Mark Zuckerberg launched Facebook, which went on to become a social
media giant
 As of 2017, there are thousands of social media platforms along with twitter,
Instagram, what’s app, messenger etc
 As of the third quarter of 2017, Facebook had 2.07 billion monthly active users
 Facebook user rate is higher than the internet user rate in Bangladesh. The total
facebook user in Bangladesh is 1,020,560, which is 165% higher than the internet
user- ITU
