2. Holiday season already started!
Should prepare your sales and timelines
Shipping materials should be ready
Do you know your cut-off dates? (the latest you
can ship on time for xmas for different delivery
services)
Do you have a promo plan for Black Friday?
Is your social media ready along with your store?
3. Help fast shopping – Finding the perfect item gets
hard – Specially in Pinterest
Start helping your buyers in the discovery process
Set separate boards by re-pining the same items as
follows
Gifts under $20
Free Shipping Gifts
Outfits to go
Humor and oddities (White elephant)
Gifts for techies …. Etc….
4. Add SEO words to your descriptions. Also add
SEO terms such as ‘holiday special’ price or
coupon code.
Include S&H in the description if possible – make
the decision faster
If you have items that sold, then add that to the
comments – move that Pin to a different board
If the item did not sell, no one liked it,
commented, re-pinned it, then OK to delete.
5. Arrange your items and give them a seasonal
description
Xmas
Halloween
Thanksgiving
Chanukah
Move the stuff away once the holiday has gone by
(less distracting-looks better)
Wait for post-sales clearances after the holidays
6. Publish a date when the orders MUST be in for
holidays (add to description)
Extend that deadline by having 1-2 days with
overnight shipping (charge more- it is OK!)
Be mindful of your own timelines (real life gets in
the way)
Raise your average sale by offering Overnight
shipping for a certain order size threshold
7. Don’t underestimate the power of a gift-with-
purchase. It doesn’t have to be homemade.
Also, do ‘bulk’ offers (Offer packs of 3, packs of
5) people like to be efficient in their shopping.
Black Friday – go for it – if you can make it work.
Impulse purchase? Below $20? Free shipping
will get you 2X the regular response
8. Use your channels to spread cheer more than
product
Giving thanks on Facebook and Twitter is good!
Let your buyers know that, so they can follow you
Pick the best only. Don’t ‘spam’ your own social
channels
Ask your buyers to take a pic of the gift being
opened, being used – Pin it!
