1. Joutila BACC Year 3 pt. 2/2

2. Welcome to see the other half of year 3 at the Joutila village. The rotations are still going by seasons and now we will go through winter-spring. If you want to take a look to who is who, check the beginning of last update. At the Joutila household the day didn’t start well as Onni started a fire while making some cheese sandwiches. - - Fire #2

3. And it didn’t seem to continue too well either. ” First you set a fire on the stove and now you are lying on the couch in your outdoor clothes looking depressed as anything. Is everything ok?”, Maikki asked her husband. Onni sighed, ”I’m just getting too old, that’s all.”

4. ” I know that”, Maikki said as she had finally managed to get Onni up from the couch, ”I’m feeling the same way but being miserable about it doesn’t help anyone. ” And once again, my wife, you are right”, Onni smiled as they danced slowly, ”but I’m slightly worried about Elmo, I would like to see him settle down instead of running from girl to girl.” Maikki sighed, ”there just isn’t much we can do for it.” Onni thought a while, ”I think that there just might be, I can give it a try at least.” After seeing Maikki’s puzzled experssion he continued, ”I have met most of the village at the club and I think I know someone who he might like, I will just introduce them.”

5. Elmo just wasn’t too fond of the idea, he didn’t think that his father would actually know what he would like but agreed to at least meet the woman. So he was introduced to Daniela Lievonen, girl with locks and dark purple lipstick and as they were shaking hands Elmo thought that this probably wasn’t too bad idea after all.

6. The day was turning into an evening and even to a night but it seemed that Daniela enjoyed dancing just about as much as Elmo did. Not to mention that Elmo was simply impressed by the way she was dressed and before Daniela left home that night it had become obvious that they would fit nicely together.

7. However, that didn’t prevent Elmo flirting to other women around and that’s what he mostly did while working at the club. He claimed that it was all for the sake of the club as it was good way to keep the customers satisfied but no one bought this explanation.

9. Onni had wanted to invite Petri and Tatu over saying that it was already a long time that all of them had had a chat together. ” Is it time soon?”, he asked curiously as soon as he saw Petri coming. ” I think it is, and certainly I hope so, I’m starting to understand pregnant women better all the time. Onni chuckled, ”don’t say that to pregnant women though if you don’t want to have black eye.”

10. ” Sorry dad, I don’t have any alien grandkids for you”, Tatu said when hugging Onni. ” As if I would mind that, great to see you.”

11. ” You certainly have an appetite of a pregnant man”, Tatu couldn’t be commenting. ” You try that yourself and we will see who has fun then”, Onni laughed at him and continued more seriously, ”I just wanted to invite you here because I don’t probably have much time left anymore…” ” But surely you aren’t that old?”, Petri automatically asked. Onni sighed, ”I’m, older than you think. Back in the past I found this magical lamp where was a spirit inside and he granted me three wishes, I already got some extra days from that and when the grim shows I will be able to gamble with him, but if I’m unlucky, I will lose on the first try.”

12. ” I don’t want to lose you anymore than no one else”, Elmo said, ”but talking about it like this is just gross. Ok, we know that you are old and we will lose you one day soon so can we now talk about something else and just have fun together?” ” I guess you are right”, Onni looked surprised at Elmo, ”there is just one thing I want to say to all of you. I’m proud of you, try to continue your heritance in this village, and I don’t mean just the blood heritance, I mean all our values, overall everything that makes us, well us.” Everyone nodded in silent agreement and finished their pancakes.

13. After that they did just like Elmo had suggested, had some fun together even though Onni claimed that he was too old for smustling and Petri complained that with the extra weight he had he couldn’t continue too long. Naturally Elmo and Tatu were in their element.

14. The talk with their dad made Elmo think things through and something that Tatu had said on that evening made him wonder too. Tatu had accused him using the women just to have some fun but even when Elmo tried to say that he wasn’t maybe the best one to tell, Tatu had told him that he had just casually flirted with some, nothing more than that. Where as Elmo… well, he couldn’t deny it, he had been on a date with many and those dates weren’t just innocent flirting. So after sleeping over the night he called Daniela over asking if she would like to move in and to his surprise she agreed right away. It had turned out that she was a romance sim so they were a good match with Elmo.

15. Now that Daniela had moved together with her boyfriend, something that she considered as a huge step, she thought that it was time to open the locks in her hair. As soon as she gave a promise, Elmo entered the bathroom where she had been working with her hair. ” Oh wow”, he breathed, ”that looks really nice, and you changed your lipstick too.” ” I thought that it was time to change, no need to be young rebellion anymore. You like it?” ” Very much”, and then he grinned very Elmo-ish way, ”now I can better run my fingers through your hair while, well you know…” That comment made Daniela giggle happily.

17. Meanwhile in the upstairs bedroom Elmo was just about to find how nice it would actually be to run his fingers through Daniela’s hair.

18. It was also the first time that Kinuski came hunting the house. First she only set the water running in the bathroom and just run around the house. But then she also scared Elmo and Maikki.

19. There was one person however that she never scared, Onni, her beloved master. ” What’s it girl? Already waiting for me to come and join you?”, Onni asked it when he saw her next to him. ” She has scared me twice”, Maikki complained. ” I suppose it hasn’t had too much fun lately”, Onni grinned and made Maikki sigh.

20. ” I wish that we hadn’t booked the trip now, when we did it I didn’t think that you would have so little time left”, Elmo said when hugging Onni. ” Don’t you mind me, just go and have fun. Twikkii is really nice place”, Onni assured him, ”and with any luck I will still be here when you come back.”

21. At first Elmo thought that it would be impossible to forget that but Twikkii really was a nice place. And even though the thought occasionally hunted him, he didn’t let it bother. ” Want to come and join me?”, he grinned at Daniela. ” There? I don’t think there is space for two.” ” I bet there is, let me show you”, Elmo said and pulled Daniela to the hammock. ” Oh wow! That was quite a ride”, Daniela said after getting up fromt he hammock. ” Told ya,” Elmo grinned sleepily.

22. ” You aren’t going to buy that are you?” Elmo asked Daniela when he saw her looking at a green shirt. Daniela laughed, ”most definately not, I was just wondering who would wear this, the colour is just bad. But here is something, can you wait here while I go and try it on?” Elmo grinned, ”or maybe I will join you?” ” You dare.” Needless to point out but since it is Elmo we are talking about, he dared.

23. Of course the hotel room also had a nice twin bed that this couple tried many times and it is just natural that spending a holiday like that means certain consequences. ” Elmo”, Daniela started and touched his hand unsure how to continue, ”we have had a great holiday…” Elmo grinned, ”most certainly, but you have burned yourself.” ” Oh, that’s nothing… I actually have another thing that is bothering me more… I think… that… I’m pregnant.” For a moment Elmo just looked at her and then took her hand in his own. ” Really?” he asked grinning nervously. ” You aren’t… mad?” ” Mad? When I can take more than half of the blame?” ” You won’t leave me?” Elmo just stared at her, ”wouldn’t even come to my mind”, he stated matter of factly.

25. Back at home Elmo was more relieved that he let anyone see to find his father well and alive and eagerly told them everything that had happened on the holiday. Well, not exactly everything but the part with the baby and engagement at least.

26. Rissanen-Heinineva Then we finally move to another household in the village, Junnu’s and Linda’s household. Junnu had decided to open another store since the first one was doing remarkably well and the opportunity came up when he found out that it was now possible to import beds as well. The shop started very small selling only few types of beds but he was sure that it had potential to be big furniture store one day.

27. Then it was time for the village to get second grave, this one dog’s grave too as Siiri’s time had come up. Sadly she had to leave without her family since all of them were working or at school.

28. ” I don’t exactly look too bad, do I?”, Hilda was talking to her own image, ”I wonder what I will look like after my birthday though. That’s already tomorrow, maybe I will invite Orlando over as well…”

29. ” Both of them are supposed to be adult soon but they don’t even seem to know how to make their beds”, Junnu muttered as he was making Aapo’s and Hilda’s beds since both of them had left them undone that morning.

31. ” You look lonely and cold. What would you say about moving to our house? I know my daughter still misses Siiri but I’m sure you would find your way into her heart soon enough.” It didn’t took him long to convince the dog who then joined the household too.

32. And he also joined the party that was just about to start and Hilda thought he had been one of the best birthday presents he had ever got.

35. After her birthday Hilda was immediately promoted to detective.

36. The family had decided that Hilda would stay living with their parents while Aapo would move out. That of course meant that she would more likely have some day a husband living with them too as well as children so it was time to rebuild. The house got whole new downstairs and it was also expanded with a second floor.

37. The romantic life of these syblings seemed to be ok, Aapo got his first kiss…

38. … Hilda invited Orlando over… … and proposed him.

39. The same day as Orlando moved in, Aapo had his birthday. Now this family had a problem with clothes too as neither, Orlando or Aapo had descent clothes. In the end they decided to combine Aapo’s sweater with Orlando’s jeans and Aapo would wear a sweater and trousers that were actually outdoor clothes.

41. Joutila #2 Nothing much had changed at Petri’s and Taika’s household, Taika was, once again kneeling in front of the toilet, symptoms that she already recognised.

42. ” One trouble less once we get you on your feet so we don’t have to carry you around”, Petri said to Tenho but he had to stop as sudden pain hit him and he quickly went to put Tenho on his nap, it was that time anyway.

44. It had taken some time from Taika to get used to have a green baby in the household but she already knew Elmo so it wasn’t that big shock for her. And after all, in spite of being green, the baby was just like any other baby.

45. ” You go and have a rest”, Petri told Taika, ”you shouldn’t wear yourself out, I can finish this.” ” I’m fine, I just want to be outside for a while.” ” But you aren’t even dressed proberly, you will get cold.” Taika sighed, ”I promise you that if I feel tired or cold, I will go back inside, until then I will be here.” ” Oh, you are about as bad as Elmo is with the leaves”, Petri grinned at Taika after they had finished.

46. ” What is it?”, Taika had come out to see where Petri was staying as his car pool had left a long time ago. ” I just got fired”, Petri hang his head, ”something about them not needing me anymore.” Petri lifted his head, ”and now you are walking in the snow with bare feet and pyjamas”, he almost yelled but Taika didn’t care, instead she just walked to Petri to hug him. Of course getting fired meant that Petri got to spend more time with their kids, something he had wanted to do for a long time already. If only their financial situation had allowed it, he wouldn’t have started looking new job at all.

49. ” You will show them, won’t you?”, Petri told Tenho, ”what being cute actually means.” ” Show ’em!” ” That’s right, now blow the candles and grow up nicely.”

50. ” Are you thinking what I’m thinking?”, Petri asked Taika grinning mischievously. ” We do have enough nannies at least…”, Taika grinned back. ” Guys, I’m standing right behind you”, Elmo pointed out. ” As if I would even manage to make you blush if I tried”, Petri said over his shoulder, ”will you watch over your brother/nephew?”

51. Tenho wasn’t at all happy with his clothes but as Elmo pointed out, at least there was no rubber duck. ” If you want to, I could make you new set of clothes”, Maikki told him as Tenho sat down next to him looking depressed in spite of the huge piece of cake he was holding. ” Yeah, ok.” Maikki smiled, ”you look very much like your father at that age.” ” Yeah, whatever.” ” Where my parents went?”, Tenho asked. ” I think that they went to have a talk”, Tatu tried. ” In the bedroom?” ” Well, there you can close the door”, Tatu tried to explain and continued trying to distract him, ”how about playing some swing?” That worked. He was happy to be with people and was quick to start making friends with everybody. With his parents he had been a best friend for years.

52. ” Thanks very much bro, yak!”, Elmo complained when Sirius puked over him after playing aeroplane for a while. For some reason Sirius didn’t think there was nothing to complain about, he just giggled happily.

53. After that part of the party continued outside with pillow fighting and Tenho got his grandmother by surprise with a snow ball.

55. The twins were growing and Sirius started his toddler training. Sirius was an easy child who rarely complained and when Taika had once lost him from sight and went to look for him, she found him sitting in the bathroom calmly waiting if someone would come and pick him up. Tenho also showed more interest for him now that he could be something of a play mate even though he usually complained that he was a real cry baby.

56. Joutila #3 ” Yaip!”, Tatu let out a cry of pain, he had went to investigate Aliisa’s book but it very soon became clear to him that it wasn’t exactly good idea. Obviously the book didn’t want to be investigated by anyone else except its owner.

57. ” Why are you wearing pink pants?”, Tatu asked not sensing the trouble. ” Want to guess?”, Aliisa asked with cool tone that Tatu had never heard before. ” Uhm…” ” I happen to be pregnant, that’s why”, she told him with very dangerous voice, ”and do you know what that means?” ” That we are going to have a baby?”, he suggested. Aliisa laughed, ”you could say that, but it also means this.”

58. Aliisa got up from the couch and took her wand and started waving it while muttering words Tatu had never heard. Then he saw a ghost like image coming closer to him, this couldn’t be good. ” Aliisa, is this really necessary? I mean, that is an accident, you are doing this on purpose.” ” You will just get what you deserve, you ought to know by now that you don’t want to mess with me. Besides I heard you when my book snapped you, this only serves you right.” After a while Tatu found himself sitting on the floor every muscle hurting and the ghost like image vanished. Swearing he started to get out of the floor. ” I don’t think that was necessary at all”, he said. ” Oh, shut up, you just got a bit beaten up, not worse than that. If I were you, I would be thankful that you are still alive.” ” Whatever.”

59. However, after he got up from the floor and had checked that all his limbs where they should be, he turned to Aliisa. ” You being pregnant is just as much your own fault as much as it is mine!”, he shouted at her, ”it doesn’t give you any right to start hexing me the way you please!” ” It certainly does, I can’t become pregnant all by myself, this is your doing and you weren’t even sorry!” ” I’m not sorry about something that isn’t my fault!” ” Fine, you sleep on the couch!”, Aliisa finally said and turned away.

60. No matter whose fault it was, the baby was going to born anyway, but before that Tatu had got the promise to sleep also in the bed instead of the couch. That particular matter seemed to be hanging from very thin thread though. ” If you don’t get your a§§ up right now you will never sleep in that bed again!”

61. Luckyly, Tatu got up just on time before their little girl was born. ” You take her, you wanted her anyway, I didn’t, I will go back to bed now.” Tatu only nodded, even he was allowed to sleep in the bed, they weren’t in the best terms about this all just yet. The little girl was named Wicca, for reasons that I think should be obvious.

62. Joutila #1 One winter night 2AM Onni finally got the visitor he had been waiting for long, but it didn’t mean that he would go that easily. ” You won’t take me just like that, I know people have lived older than I’m and my son’s wife is pregnant, I want to see that grandchild at least once.” ” I don’t bargain, but I have got an order that should you ask, we can gamble.” ” That’s fine by be, what are your options?” The grim reaper showed him blue light on his palm, then closed his hands and simply asked, ” which hand?” That time Onni guessed the right one.

63. Maikki had seen everything from the window and was extremely relieved when she realised that Onni wouldn’t be going just yet. She had just finished his portrait too, something to leave for the generations to come.

64. But the grim didn’t give up, next day he came at 6pm… … and again on the next day. ” You still refuse to come with me? How long are you going to continue this?” ” As long as needed”, Onni told him. ” Again about that grandchild?” ” Among everyone else.”

65. The mentioned grandchild was still safely in its mother’s womb but the day was closing when he or she would join the family. ” Everything well there little one? If you continue growing like this, I will simply explode so think about that. Your grandpa is also very anxious to meet you so hurry up. And I would like to wear some descent clothes again.”

66. Before that Elmo had other plans. As he was rubbing Daniela’s belly he said, ” because of work I’m already dressed for the occasion so what would you say if we got married?” ” You mean, right now?” ” Yeah, before the baby is born.” ” I guess the time is as good as any”, Daniela admitted.

68. The timing was indeed correct as soon after they changed their vows, Daniela shrieked in pain as she went into labour in middle of the living room.

69. But it wasn’t just one baby, this couple got two at one go, something that made Daniela say right away that now they wouldn’t need to be making any more kids at least. As Daniela’s eyes are brown, both of the twins had brown eyes too. The green one was named Elmeri… … and the other one Eetu.

70. Elmo was making his way to the top of entertainment career faster than no one would have believed, even though Onni said that if that kid was good at something, that was it. ” You seem to be in good mood today”, his colleague commented from the car as Elmo cheerily fingergunned him. ” This morning I became dad, I have now twin boys”, he told his colleague happily.

71. ” Now you have green baby too”, Taika said as she was putting Elmeri in his crib, ”just like us.” ” Are you now talking about the baby you are holding in your hands or about his father?”, Daniela grinned.

72. It was then that the grim showed up again and as Onni felt the chill behind him, he said, ” you are back again.” ” Of course I’m back, I will be back until you come with me”, the grim looked around, ”that baby is now your grandchild.” Onni sighed, ”yes it is, but I still won’t come with you just like that.” ” You are one of the most difficult customers I have ever had.”

73. ” But even the most stubborn customers have to give up, you lost.” ” But my family…” ” Will do just as fine as any other families before this have done and will do till the end of the times. You got to see your grandchild, now you come with me.” There was nothing to it, Onni accepted the drink the grim offered, took the suitcase and left with him. Maikki had been hoping all against hope that Onni would have got one more day. Even everything that they had to say to each other had already been said, she still would have liked to hold him just one more time.

74. Onni was a knowledge sim who maxed most of the skills, had three sons of which one was half alien, opened the first business of Joutila village and gave his name for the village. He will be surely missed by his family as much as by me.

75. Heinineva-Rissanen But as it usually goes, when you lose a life, the new starts begins, this time with Hilda Heinineva who was experiencing the consequences of their wedding night.

76. ” I think that the quality of customer service here is pretty good”, Elmo commented to a customer who was standing next to him as Hilda was kissing Orlando passionately right in front of them. ” I would rather like to have someone charge my shoppings”, the customer told him grumpily. ” But don’t you think this is much more entertaining?”, Elmo asked but only got sour ’hmph’ as an answer. It was also then that Linda realised what was happening behind her. ” You two, I don’t care how pregnant you are or how happy you are, the only reason you will be here in the shop is if you work here so either you start doing something useful or go back inside.” ” Fine mum…”

77. After opening the furniture store Junnu also decided that it was time to expand the food market and the shop got whole new look both from outside… … and inside. He had also managed to get his hands to kitchen appliances so that now it was possible to actually buy those things rather than repair the recycled ones left to the village dumbster ages ago.

78. Hilda was having the same problems as Aliisa had had with Tatu. ” How these men can just sleep through this? I wish I could do the same.”

79. Finally Orlando got up. ” What are you yelling at?”, he asked sleepily. ” What I’m yelling at?”, Hilda asked dumbfounded, ”come and meet your daughter.” ” Hello little one”, Orlando smiled at the baby, ”can we call her Milla?” Hilda smiled back at him, ”suits for me.”

80. Linda had never been too fussy about her own kids but it seemed that with the grandchild in the house was completely different matter and it seemed that most of the time awake the baby was spending in someone’s arms.

81. Due to the fires around, the law enforcement wanted to recruit more people and Orlando was also able to join them, something he had wanted to for a long time.

83. Joutila #2 ” Cake time! Cake time!”, Tenho shouted happily while jumping on the bed and he wasn’t wrong, it was the twins birthday.

86. ” Good that you’re home dad”, Tenho run to hug his father. Petri was surprised by this, ”why, you don’t usually do this?” ” The twins grew up and we didn’t have any cake for them and mummy is sleeping but I don’t think she is too well, she says that she has nightmares.” ” Ok, let go of me so I will go and check how she is.” ” Will she be ok?” ” Yes, she will”, Petri said and hoped it was true.

88. Later when Taika was feeling better, they decided that they could hold a small celebration for Sirius. The guests were still very much out of the question but to Tenho’s joy they at least had a cake.

89. ” Wow, look at me!”, he shouted as soon as the confettis had come down, ”I even got good clothes.”

90. Petri decided to try again with Taika and this time she didn’t resist when he pulled her for a hug. ” Feeling better?”, he asked softly. ” Much, and if you just would kiss me now, I would feel even better”, she replied just as softly. Petri had no complains for that one.

91. Petri had finally got his old job back, apparently his old boss was the quilty one for many problems on that working place and was kicked out soon after he had fired Petri. The new boss called Petri as soon as possible and hearing that his old boss wouldn’t be working there anymore, Petri gladly accepted the job. That of course meant that the financial situation of the family got better and they could finally afford better house.

92. Timo and Lumo were both cute toddlers who took a lot after their parents, both in looks and in character.

93. As Taika was home all the time, it was much on her responsibility to teach the toddler skills but whenever Petri had the time he did as much as he could. He didn’t do it just to help Taika, but also to be with his children.

94. Sirius and Tenho were quickly becoming close friends, even they had very different personalities, they got along fine. Tenho’s liking to people was obvious, no matter how mean he could be when he wanted to, he was always glad to have new friends. Of course that didn’t mean that they would never have problems…

95. The twins played a lot together and were each others best friends long before their birthday and their older brothers used to play with them quite often too. So overall, the whole family was fast becoming very close.

97. Joutila #3 At first it looked like Tatu was the only one who was going to take care of the baby, not that he minded that much though. But eventually Aliisa came around doing her share too, though she didn’t always have that much success in doing so.

98. One day she was writing her diary and started wondering why she is just sitting at home with a baby when she could be doing something else? Anything else. Then she had an idea. As much as she despised the grumpy nannies, that was better option than to just stay home, so she called one. ” Here is some money in advance, just make sure that the house is standing when I come home and the baby is alive. If not, I will come and burn your house”, she told the nanny. Nanny was used to hearing threats like that, but the green glow around the witch made her realise that this time the threat would actually come true and so she was quickly assuring Aliisa that she wouldn’t do any of those things.

99. Finally Aliisa was out of the house and she could be flying with her broomstick, she had been waiting this day for so long and was now just laughing happily. ” I’m out of the house!”, she yelled to no one in particular.

100. The idea that she had got, was to open a clothing store. She was tired of seeing people wearing just anything they managed to get their hands on and decided to do something for it. Of course, being a mean witch doesn’t help when working in customer service. She tend to have a habit of being too direct with the customers and what she thought would look nice on them, this led to many arguments.

102. ” If I will catch whoever did this and who is the one that steals our newspapers, I will make them regret the day they were born”, Aliisa was muttering under her breath while collecting the trash back to the trash bin, ”if it is some woman Tatu has been seeing, I will make him regret the day he was born too.” Tatu of course wasn’t that stupid that he would go and see other women when living with someone like Aliisa, he still remembered the hex she had cast on him and he wasn’t in a hurry to try that again.

103. Sadly that didn’t mean that he wasn’t going to be hexed anyway. ” Bees? I ask you and for what reason?” ” The same as last time”, Aliisa smiled coolly, ”as you can see I’m pregnant again. After those have finished with you, I hope you have finally learned your lesson. Besides I needed some practise with that spell, I’m going to cast to that someone who is kicking our trash can if I can catch him or her at it.” As Aliisa had left the room and Tatu was waving some of the last bees away, he muttered, ”at least it was easier than last time.”

104. ” You going to join us?”, Tatu asked Aliisa as it was Wicca’s first birthday and he had also invited his mother with them as he thought that she would like to see her granddaughter and probably needed something else to think anyway after his dad had died. ” I will pass, I need to sleep. Just one more thing. I can’t stand anymore pink in this house, if she grows up in pink clothes you will take her to my shop and get her anything, anything else to wear.”

105. Lucky for everyone, Wicca grew up in blue dress and started happily playing with the toy rabbit that Maikki had brought her. It was pink, but Tatu hoped Aliisa wouldn’t care about that.

106. That evening they were having their dinner when Tatu felt Aliisa’s hand on his, ” at least her bed isn’t pink”, she only said. That Tatu understood to be an attempt to build peace between them again and squeezed her hand back.

108. ” Mummy told me that you don’t walk properly yet so let’s take a new try shall we?” ” Mummy no like babies.” ” Where did you get that?” ” Mummy hate babies.” Tatu sighed, he would need to talk with Aliisa as to what talk to Wicca, ”mummy don’t hate babies, she just isn’t very fond of them but she likes you all the same.” ” Me no like babies. Me hate babies too.” Tatu sighed again, really he would need to talk to her, what a cheerfull thought.

109. Tatu thought that inviting his brother and Tenho over would be good idea as he wanted Tenho to get to know his cousin, and vice versa.

110. ” You certainly look like someone from our family”, Petri laughed at Wicca, ”certainly your father’s daughter and I bet mother was happy to see that we have another red head in the family. I just wonder that how come that both of the red heads are the meanest of you all?”

112. Rissanen #2 Aapo Rissanen had moved out right after his birthday and was now living in a small house next to his old home. On the first day he had found a job opening in business, the village of Joutila was growing and as there were quite many private businesses by now it had become clear that they would need an organization to supervise them before they were all out of control. But no matter how interesting his job was, or how good food he made for himself, he was rather lonely on the evenings.

113. That’s when he usually headed to the club to meet some people and only came home when it was time to go to bed.

116. Of course the fact that Kalle couldn’t been easily found in this forsaken place also meant that he couldn’t find that much anything that happened outside the village. He had brought some of his most valued possessions with him but even the fancy computer didn’t help him much as the internet connection was the poorest he had ever seen. Why Kalle wanted so desperately to find out things outside the village? As mentioned, he was on the run and now he wanted to know what was happening in his home town, but even more than that, he wanted to know where his child had gone. Kalle had had a short affair with Maya Tammilehto that resulted to her pregnancy, but as tragic as it is, she died in a fire and the baby was taken by the social workers. Kalle had tried to search all the possible orphanigies but hadn’t found anything, the poor internet connection didn’t help at all and he was starting to lose his temper.

117. ” What do you mean you can’t do anything about it? I need better internet connection for heaven’s sake, the one I have now is unbelievable lousy!” ”…” ” No, I can’t live without it damn it, I really need it. Not possible? What do you mean it isn’t possible? We live on on 21 st century, don’t we?” ”…” ” Right, so I’m just about in the only village in the whole world that doesn’t have properly working internet connections? Thank you very much”, and he slammed the phone back to its place with unnecessary force.

118. Kalle just didn’t have much options, it was either working internet connection or staying alive and as much as he claimed that he couldn’t live without one, he most certainly wanted to at least live. At least until he met Elmo. He had simply come and rang his doorbell, much to his annoyance. ” So you come from other side of the mountains too? My dad was from there”, half alien was asking him curiously. Kalle didn’t know who this half alien was, he had just went to answer the doorbell and there he was, standing as if it was the most natural place to be. ” Yes, but can I ask why you are here?” The half alien shrugged, ”it is a very small village and whenever there is someone new, we want to know, it is rather closed society you see.” ” Can I at least have your name?” ” Oh, sure thing. Elmo Joutila.”

119. That evening when Kalle went to bed he was again doubting his decision to come here. Lousy work that paid next to nothing, no internet connection, boring houses and above all, arrogant, self-confident half alien who treated him like any other people at the village. The only thing that he could congratulate himself right now was the fact that he was alive, even though at that moment his life didn’t seem to worth of anything.

120. And that’s that for this time. If you are wondering about Kalle and my reference to my legacy, that’s indeed where he is from, if you want to know more about the circumstances that lead to this, read that or then simply wait for the next update, everything will be explained eventually. I’m still not plotting in this story, one plotty story is enough for me but I had to hid Kalle somewhere and I wanted to use at least one of the available cas-sims so it was real win-win situation. This update covered the winter and spring of 3 rd year and in the end couple more careers were unlocked: architecture (10 vacated lots) and then taken by Kalle Makkonen, 3 electrocutions led to an opening in science career, 3 fires and three more burglaries to openings in law enforcement.
