FINNISH PANELISTS AND HOSTS
Mr. Risto Siilasmaa
CEO, F-Secure
Mr Risto Siilasmaa was born in 1966. He is the founder of F-Secure, which is a
company that makes programs to protect individuals and businesses against
computer viruses and other threats spreading through the Internet and mobile
networks. Risto Siilasmaa served as the President and CEO of the company until
November 5, 2006. Since that he holds the position of Chairman of the Board of
Directors. He is also a Chairman of the Boards of Ekahau Inc., Efecte Corporation
and Fruugo Inc. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Blyk Ltd., a mem-
ber of the Board of the Federation of Finnish Technology Industries and a mem-
ber of the Board of Elisa Corporation. Mr. Siilasmaa serves also on the Communi-
cations Administration advisory board of the Ministry of Transport and Communi-
cations Finland. Risto Siilasmaa is a member of the advisory boards of the Hel-
sinki University of Technology and Helsinki University of Economics.
Dr. Pekka Hallberg
President, Supreme Administrative Court
Dr Hallberg was born June 12. 1944. He has been the President of the Supreme
Administrative Court of Finland since 1993.
Mr. Esko Aho
President, Sitra
Mr. Esko Aho, born in 1954, has had a long and distinguished career serving Fin-
nish society. He held the post of Prime Minister of Finland from 1991 to 1995. Af-
ter the 2000 presidential campaign, Aho joined Harvard University for one year
as a lecturer, and following his retirement from the Finnish Parliament, he
worked as a private consultant. Mr. Aho was appointed President of the Sitra, the
Finnish Innovation Fund as of 1 July 2004. Mr. Aho chaired a group of experts on
European innovation policy, which submitted its report to the European Commis-
sion in January 2006. Most recently, Mr. Aho was appointed a Member of Board
of Directors at Russian Venture Company from January 2007.
Dr. Mikko Kosonen
Executive Vice President, Sitra
Mr. Mikko Kosonen, born in 1957, is the Executive Vice President and member of
the strategic management of Sitra. He is responsible for heading the newly-
established Innovations and New Solutions unit. The unit’s mandate includes the

development and implementation of measures that are in line with Sitra’s mission
of revitalising the Finnish innovation environment.
Before joining in Sitra Mikko Kosonen worked for over twenty years in
Nokia Group. His tasks covered the roles of CIO and SVP, Business Infra-
structure and Corporate Planning, of the Nokia Group. Additionally, he is
the author of many articles printed in influential business and research
publications on the subject of international business, strategy, organization
and knowledge management. He is the co- author with Professor Yves Doz
of the June 2007 HBR article 'The New Deal at the Top' and forth-coming
book (Nov 2007) 'Fast Strategy: How Strategic Agility Helps You Stay
Ahead of the Game'.
