2. AIR VENT VALVE WORKING PRINCIPLE
When liquid is pumped through the system at startup, the
initial air inside the piping is pushed into the air vent by the
pressure of the flow. The float remains in the lower part of the
air vent, allowing the valve to remain open and continuously
discharge air.
After the initial air venting, liquid flows into the air vent. The
float rises with the rising liquid and closes the valve.
If air enters the air vent while it is closed, the liquid level
drops and the float lowers, allowing the valve to open and
discharge air once more.
3. AIR VENT VALVE PURPOSE
THERE ARE MAINLY TWO REASONS
1. The pockets of Air accumulating at a high points
can result in a line restriction
(A) Increases Headloss
(B) Extends Pumping Cycle & Increases Energy Consumption
(C) Promote corrosions of Pipe &Fitting
(D) Pressure Drop Higher then Pump Capacity & Stop all flows
5. AIR VENT VALVE WORKING METHOD
It’s a small orifice valve & will continuously release
accumulated air during system operation. As air
from pipeline enter the valve during system
operation it displaces the water, allowing the float to
drop. The air is then released into the atmosphere
through a small orifice. As the air is vented it is
replaced by water, raising the float and closing the
valve orifice. As air accumulates , the valve will
continue to cycle in this manner to remove collect air
7. AIR VENT VALVE FEATURES
