 A bundle is a group of procedures based on best
practices
 When applied together can reduce incidence of
HAIs

5. BUNDLE OF PREVENTION OF CLABSI
 Insertion Bundle:
 Hand Hygien (surgical with Betadin7.5% or chlorhexidine)
 maximal sterile barrier precautions (mask, gown, sterile
gloves, and sterile full body drape)

6. BUNDLE OF PREVENTION OF CLABSI
 Proper skin preparation antiseptic with betadin
10% with contact time 2 minute
 Proper selection of site of insertion jugular or
subclavian
( Avoid femoral site in adult patients)

7.  Maintenance Bundle:
 Hand hygien before touching CVL
 Care of insertion site (Replace dressings that are wet,
soiled, or dislodged)
 Scrub the access port or hub immediately prior to each
use with(70% alcohol) for 15 seconds
