The laboratory staff and building of the Laboratory of Soil Research named after Prof. Ivane Sarishvili in Georgia was presented. There are 4 main soil analysis laboratories in Georgia along with over 10 university laboratories. Proficiency testing was first participated in by the soil research laboratory in 2019 through GLOSOLAN. The laboratory is strong in assessing soil fertility and analyzing trace elements but could improve its analysis of organic compounds and soil microbiology research. Expectations from the meeting and GLOSOLAN include knowledge sharing, harmonizing methods, improving quality control through sample exchanges, and support for training, new methods, and staff qualifications.
