sector and move to a more sustainable mixed
funding model…. enabling communities to
invest into their… sports using models like
crowdfunding”

6. HOW DOES IT WORK
We build you a bespoke crowdfunding website.
Campaigner applies on line via application form
Provides 2 referees to corroborate the statements, costs etc
We take up references and if all OK issue an access code to campaigner to populate their
page on our site
They complete their page with goals, target, period, video, pictures etc and when ready apply
to have page published. Once published they can update the page at any time with new blogs,
photos, videos etc. The page stays live even after the campaign ends for updates.
At end of campaign we bundle up all donations and Gift Aid where applicable and remit the
whole to campaigner.
Lets have a look at some examples

WHY DOES IT WORK
8. WHAT MAKES A SUCCESSFUL CAMPAIGN
Plan - Pre launch, launch, campaign and post campaign
Personal - Introduce yourself and tell people why it’s important to you.
Video - If a picture tells a thousand words, then what does a video do?
Communicate - Never stop communicating with your supporters. Campaign updates,
donation updates, good news and bad. Keep them engaged so that they want to share
your journey
Momentum - You will have an initial circle who will support your project - use them to build
on their circle and their circles circle and so on. Keep it short to maintain interest
PR - Local press are always looking for local content. Communicate with relevant
bloggers and others on the internet which share your passion, hold launch events.
Contacts – Schools, Colleges, CSP, NGB and other organisation you think can help
spread the word.

10. “ Crowdfunding can be a powerful way to get the local community to
interact & support your initiatives. I have found Podium Partners very
supportive & helpful.
As parents we want to support our kids and as they get better; costs for
coaching, travel and equipment often spiral. Podium Partners has allowed
us to reach a wider circle to raise money in order to cover some of these
costs. For those making a contribution no matter how small there is also
something very special about helping a young person to be the best they
can be. For the athlete it’s not just the financial help but knowing they have
the backing of friends, family, local businesses and complete strangers –
how motivating is that.
By utilising the crowdfunding platform, we were able to raise vital funds to
purchase necessary equipment which will help us develop the talent in our
Juniors Section. The support given by the Podium Partners' team was
brilliant and really assisted us in getting the most out of our campaign!”
